Guest PaulOBrien Posted May 18, 2012 Report Posted May 18, 2012 HTC have announced a new budget handset for their range, the HTC Desire C. Featuring 'One' range styling but most definitely not part of that exclusive club. If the Desire C looks like a One series device with it's 3 button front configuration, stylised camera surround and 'drilled' speaker grille, it sadly won't perform like one with a distinctly low-budget spec sheet: 600 MHz processor3.5" HVGA (320x240) screenAndroid™ 4.0 with HTC Sense™ 44 GB storage512 MB RAMmicroSD expansion900/2100 MHz WCDMA/HSPDA850/900/1800/1900 MHz GSM/GPRS/EDGEProximity sensorAmbient light sensorG-Sensor3.5 mm stereo audio jackNFC3(NFC version only)Wi-Fi®: IEEE 802.11b/g/nStandard micro-USB (5-pin micro-USB 2.0)5 megapixel camera WITH HTC IMAGESENSE™Beats Audio™1230 mAh battery107.2 x 60.6mm x 11.9598 gramsAvailable in white and black in the UK (also red in other territories) It's a rather strange device really. Some specs seem pretty decent (5MP camera with HTC Imagesense, Android 4, NFC) and others are very weak (600MHz processor, HVGA screen). It's likely rivals are devices like the Samsung Galaxy Ace which, admittedly, has sold rather a lot of units, so the market is out there! I'm interested to see how Sense 4 runs on such a low end device and whether the camera speed lives up to it's 'ImageSense' name, so we'll be bringing you a review in due course. You can read more on the Desire C at the HTC website and buy a handset at MobileFun, who have the handset listed at £179.99 shipping from 28th May. Oh and the 'Desire C' name? Do not like. :) Click here to view the item
