About to buy a tablet for the whole family to use. I am an avid Android user and would love an Android tablet but at the iPad price point of £330 I am struggling to see what is the best device. I am looking for a 10 inch model. Will mostly be used for quick browsing and for the kids to watch TV and film I have downloaded. I would be interested on the video front to know if there is any difference between Android and iPad in terms of video formats they will play. Any advice on a good ics tablet at this price appreciated...

Thanks

I suggest you that ipad3 is a good device. It can be gives 16 GB storage memory.I think the average person uses an iPad mostly for browsing the web, reading and writing emails, and using a handful of applications. It is also cheapest model so you can easily buy it.

I've just bought a chinese import, TI OMAP 4460 CPU, 1.5Ghz dual core, 1Gb RAM, 16Gb storage + SD slot, 10" IPS 1280x800 screen, stereo speakers, full market access, Android 4.0.4.

Model is T20, manufacturer is these letters put together: s m a r t q (for some reason Modaco changes these letters to "SPAM")

bought it from ipadalternative (free shipping to UK), there's plenty of other tablets on there that are cheaper but still high spec (higher spec than the 3 iPads)

Good build quality, plenty of firmware updates, for the price I don't believe the Chinese imports can be beaten

or how about the scroll extreme?

£180, a work colleague has one of these, very nippy, full market access too
