Guest pelago Posted May 25, 2012 Report Posted May 25, 2012 (edited) When using the FM Radio app and the headphones, there is a quite distinctive hiss. I've tried with both the headphones that came with the G300 and some other headphones. The hiss is present even if I turn the volume right down to zero, as long as the FM Radio app is running, I don't hear the same hiss in other apps. I'm on B885. Does anyone else have this problem? Guest pelago Posted May 27, 2012 Report Posted May 27, 2012 Added a poll. Please indicate whether or not you have this problem. I'm wondering whether there's something specifically wrong with my G300 and whether I should return it or not. To be clear, this hiss is not anything to do with a bad tuning of a station. It doesn't get louder when changing volume and in fact is still present with the volume set to zero. I cannot hear the same hiss if using the speaker. I imagine it's some kind of interference because the headphones are also used as the FM aerial, but I don't have the same problem on other phones or MP3 players that have built-in FM radios and use the headphone as an aerial.
Guest pelago Posted May 30, 2012 Report Posted May 30, 2012 I've just realised that I can hear the hiss through the speaker too (if I hold it against my head as it's a pretty quiet hiss), if I press the bottom-left button to make the output got to the speaker instead of the headphones. This hiss on either headphones or speaker is only really noticeable in a quiet room, by the way. Are there any other FM Radio apps that I can try, just in case it's a software problem?
Guest Davidoff59 Posted May 30, 2012 Report Posted May 30, 2012 I think radio apps are few and far between as its very hard to implement on Android for some reason.
