Guest tilal6991 Posted May 25, 2012 Report Posted May 25, 2012 Will type up a write up later. For now a download link: http://goo.im/devs/tilal6991/skate/ROMs/AOSP/zte_skate-20120525-eng.tilal6991.zip Only flash if you know what you are doing. You will need to flash superuser seperately if you need it. And gapps as usually.
Guest razzmataz1478 Posted May 25, 2012 Report Posted May 25, 2012 So, will this require wipes on install?
Guest tilal6991 Posted May 25, 2012 Report Posted May 25, 2012 Just cache should get you from cfx to this.
Guest Der_Floo Posted May 25, 2012 Report Posted May 25, 2012 is there anything that can go wrong? i flashed it normal..and it boots into clockworkmod after a few seconds.
Guest tilal6991 Posted May 25, 2012 Report Posted May 25, 2012 I think for now it need ro be flashed over the top of cfx. I just figured that out. Will fix in the next release.
Guest razzmataz1478 Posted May 25, 2012 Report Posted May 25, 2012 Is gaining root as simple as copying the su and busybox binaries into xbin
Guest Der_Floo Posted May 25, 2012 Report Posted May 25, 2012 flash it over cfx..bootloop with android logo :D...
Guest razzmataz1478 Posted May 26, 2012 Report Posted May 26, 2012 Ok..so to install I backed up CFX Formatted boot system data cache SD ext Installed CFX Installed AOSPFX Installed GAPPS Rebooted. Tried to get root access but ro.secure must be 1 in the kernel..
Guest tilal6991 Posted May 26, 2012 Report Posted May 26, 2012 Flash http://downloads.androidsu.com/superuser/Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed.zip
Guest utternoob Posted May 26, 2012 Report Posted May 26, 2012 So should I backup CFX and then do what razz did and then flash the above link?
Guest timoti111 Posted May 26, 2012 Report Posted May 26, 2012 Hi I'm newbie in this and I don't know what AOSP is, if it is better than CFX and if yes in what.
Guest tilal6991 Posted May 26, 2012 Report Posted May 26, 2012 This is only really for advanced users. For now I would recommend the majority of people to eemain on cfx.
Guest razzmataz1478 Posted May 26, 2012 Report Posted May 26, 2012 Ok...I think I'm going to try to get cache2sd working on this for people who have 2mb TPT as i've just remebered I did one this week...
Guest utternoob Posted May 26, 2012 Report Posted May 26, 2012 (edited) Seems great. Faster than CFX and looks just as good :) Is it safe to restore data from my backup of CFX? Edited May 26, 2012 by utternoob
Guest razzmataz1478 Posted May 26, 2012 Report Posted May 26, 2012 Seems great. Faster than CFX and looks just as good :) Is it safe to restore data from my backup of CFX? You can try but I think that's what's causing bootloop when directly upgrading. As a side note, what is the size of your cache? If it's 2mb can you download big apps from play store?
Guest utternoob Posted May 26, 2012 Report Posted May 26, 2012 (edited) Think it is 5mb. I shall leave the restore for now then. I will find a big app and download it Edit: Currently downloading Google + and where's my water free. While I'm typing, almost every word has a red underline Edit 2: Both downloaded fine. Must have a bigger cache size Edited May 26, 2012 by utternoob
Guest razzmataz1478 Posted May 26, 2012 Report Posted May 26, 2012 Hmmm...could you download terminal emulator and type 'df' please?
Guest utternoob Posted May 26, 2012 Report Posted May 26, 2012 (edited) Yup. Cache is 5mb 1mb used Edited May 26, 2012 by utternoob
Guest razzmataz1478 Posted May 26, 2012 Report Posted May 26, 2012 It must be moving it to data/local then...
Guest razzmataz1478 Posted May 26, 2012 Report Posted May 26, 2012 Well, sometimes if you run out of cache space, android automatically moves the cache to data/local...
