An Ice Cream Sandwich update has finally been released for the AndyPad / AndyPad Pro, giving 'access to a host of new features, whilst a new look and improved performance will help you with your day-to-day tasks.'

The update, which is available from the AndyPad Website, comes in at 206MB for each device and is installed using the Rockchip flash tool from a Windows PC.

I've installed the update on both my Standard and Pro device and I have to say that, with its completely stock ICS style, it is light years ahead of the original Gingerbread build! There is one slight caveat - if you are on the shipping ROM with Android Market, bear in mind that when you update to the new release you will lose Market and the other Google applications as the AndyPad is not 'Google approved'. If only an enterprising user would add in those features... oh, wait, they already have - over in our AndyPad forum! Time to upgrade then! :)

The process itself is very straightforward, I did have to run the upgrade tools as an administrator before it would work (not detailed in the instructions) and from then on it was painless. Proceed with care though, a wrongly selected file / checkbox could have disastrous results.
