Germany will get his HTC Smartphone within the first three month of 2003 - so it will be here soon. Its already in testing here @MS Germany...

Microsoft and T-Mobile, one of the world's leading mobile communications companies, today announced a series of initiatives to help consumer?s access information they want, when they want it, wherever they are.

At the opening of the 3GSM World Congress in Cannes, France, T-Mobile was unveiled as:

- the first carrier to bring to market MSN Hotmail® and MSN Messenger® mobile services through Pocket MSN, a new rich client-based subscription service for Pocket PCs and Windows® Powered Smartphones to be available later this year; 

- committed to delivering a Windows Powered Smartphone in summer 2003 in its major markets.

Pocket MSN

Pocket MSN is a rich-client based subscription service optimised for Pocket PCs and Windows Powered Smartphones. Built as an integrated graphical experience, Pocket MSN is designed to offer consumers the consistent and familiar user experience they expect, using an always-on functionality that doesnt always require a continuous network connection.

Pocket MSN gives users of Pocket PC and Windows Powered Smartphone devices, one click access to core MSN Services including MSN Hotmail, MSN Messenger, MSN alerts and MSN browse content (where available). 

Pocket MSN also allows the ability to communicate with buddies on MSN Messenger regardless of whether they are on the mobile phone, PC or Pocket PC, and provides real-time updates of MSN Hotmail messages.

Commenting on the news, Judy Gibbons, Vice President, MSN EMEA said: "Our leading communications tools of MSN Messenger and MSN Hotmail have already proved hugely popular to carriers and consumers via SMS. T-Mobiles commitment to offer Pocket MSN to its customers is an exciting step towards making MSN internet services available any time, any place and on any device."

MSN mobile services are currently offered by 36 carriers in 21 countries worldwide. In the EMEA region covering Europe, Middle East and Africa, this includes 22 mobile operators representing 57 million mobile phone users in 13 countries.

T-Mobile Windows Powered Smartphone

T-Mobile has announced its intention to launch a Windows Powered Smartphone in summer 2003 across its major markets.

The T-Mobile Windows Powered Smartphone manufactured by High Tech Corporation (HTC) will bring together powerful, exciting services and applications such as photo messaging, rich web access, mobile e-mail, instant and text messaging - all in a handset comparable in size to todays mainstream mobile phones.

T-Mobile Smartphone users will also have access to a range of Microsoft applications including Pocket Internet Explorer, Windows Media® Player and Pocket Outlook® for email calendar and contacts. 

Juha Christensen, Vice President of the Mobile Devices Marketing Group for Microsoft, said: "Our agreement with T-Mobile demonstrates further industry momentum for smart devices and networks capable of supporting rich mobile data.  We are extremely excited about the commitment from one of Europes leading mobile operators to the Smartphone platform.
