Guest i am not a hacker Posted June 3, 2012 Report Posted June 3, 2012 I came across solid explorer and it turned out to be amazing, better than ES, Astro, simply the best. The application is still in development state and may be UNSTABLE so please treat it with understanding. Main features: 1. Two independent panels for browsing 2. Drag and Drop inside and between panels 3. FTP, SFTP and SMB/CIFS clients 4. File sharing via FTP 5. Support for ZIP, TAR.GZ, TAR.BZ2 and RAR archives 6. Creating ZIP and TAR archives 7. Dropbox and Box support 8. Bookmarks 9. Root access 10. Indexed search, also available from the system (that means that you can search for files from the Google Search widget/app) 11. Detailed file and directory information Try it now, it's beautiful and intuitive! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.solid.explorer&hl=en
Guest shmizan Posted June 4, 2012 Report Posted June 4, 2012 thanks looking good. I find it stupid to install a root capable file explorer and one that does not so I only use Root explorer right now. so before I try it out - can it be a suitable substitute for Root Explorer?
Guest i am not a hacker Posted June 4, 2012 Report Posted June 4, 2012 I don't see why you don't just try it out yourself. It does have root capabilities and can be used as a substitute for Root Explorer.
Guest shmizan Posted June 4, 2012 Report Posted June 4, 2012 (edited) because if you said it not as good as root explorer for the root jobs, I would save the time. I trust your judgment and save me some time ;-) tried it. first impression is very good. only drawback is the size. 3.2 MB vs 350 kB of Root Explorer. Edited June 4, 2012 by shmizan
