Guest jazzmista Posted June 8, 2012 Report Posted June 8, 2012 Hi there, Firstly, hello! I help to build Android-x86 for a small touchscreen device known as the O2 Joggler and I figured that the binary translation used in the San Diego could help our cause. After doing some digging around in the system dump (thanks Paul!), I found a reference to a file/folder called qemu-props, located at /system/bin/qemu-props (the file that I got this from was etc/init.goldfish.sh from the system dump). Would it be possible for someone to provide a copy of that file/folder for me to have a look at? I understand that this may not be possible at the moment (due to the lack of root) but when it is possible it would really help me out :) Thanks, Jamie

Guest jazzmista Posted June 8, 2012 Report Posted June 8, 2012 Can't find any references to QEMU in /system/bin/, I'm afraid! :( thanks for looking anyway. I'll try and find an alternative source - it has to load qemu from somewhere!
Guest Simon O Posted June 8, 2012 Report Posted June 8, 2012 :( thanks for looking anyway. I'll try and find an alternative source - it has to load qemu from somewhere! You can get it from a developer build. Inside the ICS builds are qemud and qemu-props inside /system/bin/ If you need the full ROM drop me a PM and I'll send you the link, or hit me up on twitter.
Guest ALoGeNo Posted July 3, 2012 Report Posted July 3, 2012 (edited) Thank you very much for the DUMP PaulOBrien, I am a few weeks looking for some Intel phone dump (xolo x900, lenovo k800, or that one) I have curious to check the content, about QEMU stuff, I must to say that this thing dont work in that way, to run ARM apps in x86 they are using onthe fly Binary Translator aka libhoudini and an extra abi2=armeabi in build.prop (you can check it in the dump), in any case, Dan from http://buildroid.org did the job for vbox and days after did a patch for real android-x86 devices so we can now use ARM apps in android-x86, if you wanna know more about this stuff take a look at my blog here: http://android-x86.s...?tag=libhoudini Edited July 3, 2012 by ALoGeNo
