Removing provider apps

Would be useful to remove the Virgin Mobile apps from the phone.

Any ideas on a clean reliable method?

Preferably leaving it rooted!

is yours locked to virgin? ive just got the live walkman locked to virgin but having trouble finding a sim unlock code for it. I paid to use the wotan server but it uses the testpoint method which I cant seem to get working for some reason, wotan arent very helpfull either they dont respond to my emails.

I was having trouble getting it unlocked, I finally went to a Virgin in Bristol who would not unlock it as I bought it second hand and was not under contract with them. They sent me to an independent place nearby that had it unlocked for me in ten minutes.

Now I'm trying to get ICS onto it as my IS number is not listed, hopefully without touching the bootloader.

I used wotan server which cost about 15 quid, the process is pretty simple really but I was having trouble getting my fone recognised because of a dodgy data cable, when you run the test point method it unlocks the bootloader aswell.

Ive installed the official version of ics using flash tool, im having trouble getting custom ics roms to boot though for some reason, the kernals for ics all seem to be very buggy and they all cause boot loops for me.

you can install the official ics using flash tool without touching the bootloader, just download flash tool then the official ftf rom.

Okay finally got around to manually updating to ICS using this method, it was easy!

Just remember to have it rooted and use Volume down.

Even my Sim unlock stayed working as the update avoided that file.

Oh yea my unlock was £13.50 as I had a 10% off card given to me by the guy at Virgin.

The shop said they didn't give discounts on unlocks but the card didn't mention this and I got it anyway.

Oh and all the Virgin Apps are now removed or removable so that was worth it.

Face unlock and many other great features on there as well!
