no way. just create a media/audio/ file on ur SD card then put ur music in there :)

I took this phone to the Vodaphone store where I bought it because it wouldn't play music I'd put on it from media player. They didn't know what the matter was but when I went to the Vodaphone website it said the phoen would only play music downloaded from Itunes or the Vodaphone website. What a rip off

The guy in the Vodafone shop probably just meant that if you get music from good quality sources then they are more likely to work, as he didn't know the source of the person's music.

Or could the files in that example have been drmed wma files?
