Guest iReece Posted June 18, 2012 Report Posted June 18, 2012 Okay guys. I'm not sure if it's broken or what, but it shouldn't be. I don't use it at all. Basically, I'm running cold fusion x (ICS, cm9) and my back speaker refuses to work. That's not all. After some testing and experimenting, I found that the sounds actually play very quietly when I use my headphones (music is fine though) Any idea on what's wrong? I've reflashed, wiped, cleared Dalvik, checked mute etc. nothing seems to work. Music won't play, ringtones, alarms etc. the front speaker is fine though.. I believe it still works purely because of the volume levels. It really is weird. You can just about hear it when you use headphones to preview a ringtone. So maybe that's why I can't hear it through the back speaker? Anyway. Anyone know of something similar or what I can do to fix it?
Guest C3C0 Posted June 18, 2012 Report Posted June 18, 2012 (edited) Try stock rom. If it doesn't work properly then it's a hardware failure. Had the same thing (no sound from back speaker at all) so my Skate went for repair and they replaced the back speaker. Fine since then. This kind of HW failure is quite common on Skate. Guest iReece Posted June 18, 2012 Report Posted June 18, 2012 (edited) Thanks, trying it now. Although it could be hardware related, why does it play so quietly when I use headphones? That's what puzzles me, the speakers must still work. But play everything quietly? Edited June 18, 2012 by iReece
Guest iReece Posted June 18, 2012 Report Posted June 18, 2012 (edited) Okay. Defo a hardware issue. Complete BS man, Just as the warranty expires, one of the most important parts of the phone breaks. Typical. I hope orange are going to fix this cheaply.... Edited June 18, 2012 by iReece
