Bluetooth failure - Constantly 'turning on' / 'turning off'

Gen 1, SanFrancisco / stock

On starting my SF's Bluetooth facility it just goes into a loop, constantly switching on and off repeatedly in a 10 second pattern.

Maybe a hardware ussue?

Has anyone else heard of this problem?
