The next question is when will cm10 come along?

nice. am not into tablets, but I may consider this.

With those prices there's really no reason to buy a tablet from some shady Chinese brand. But of course I'm also more curious about CM10 :D. The new notifications look nice.

Wouldn't it be cheaper in GB than the announced 159/199 though? Those prices were in USD.

Looks good but no 3G, bluetooth or SD card slot (seriously, why? Can't be expensive & limits the device so much) puts me off, even at that price.

Can't order it on the continent :(. Hope it'll get here not long after the UK. Not that I have the money lying around :P.

I think most people who buy a cheap tablet like this, don't feel like paying for an extra data connection, so I understand why it doesn't have 3G. And if you have wifi you don't really need bluetooth, there are ways to transfer files between phones. It has NFC so Wifi-Direct could be a solution. It's not like you want to connect a bluetooth headset to this, you can't call with it. And SD card slot is probably because Google wants you to stream videos and music from their Store. If it's all in the cloud, you don't need a lot of storage.

It has Bluetooth according to the specs. I think it could do with either 3g or SD slot, either make it a cloud device you can always get online with or make it so you can load it with content before going out. A great bit of kit for the price though

I see your point and Google's move with it but I just disagree. 3G, fair enough, most tablets don't, as much as I'd like one, but an SD slot is essential to me, think everett nailed it. With no 3G a SD slot is more important, as a media device I want to be able to either stream HD videos on the go or have them preloaded and 16gb isn't going to be a lot for loading them seeing as streaming is out of the question. Whats the point in just wifi & 16gb? Basically limited to using it either at home which is pointless because I have a laptop/TV for that or in a cafe or somewhere with wifi, which I'm also not going to do.

Annoying, if it had an SD card slot I'd be interested. Just my opinion.

But I totally agree with you about the SD-card slot. That's essential for a phone/tablet. Even when a phone has 32/64GB of its own, I'll still want to expand that :). I could do without 3G on a tablet, even on my Skate I use wifi more often. Most places I go have a wifi network I can access (school, the train station, hm okay the train itself doesn't have wifi :P).

Was justing pointing out Google's view on that. But you can't stream videos and music outside the US (or can you in the UK?), so it's not a very good argument.

Yeah understandable, I rarely use wifi so it's just how we use things differently, 3Gs always on for me and being unlimited its usually perfectly fast enough for anything I use it for over wifi.

Would just be nice, can always tether I spose, just not ideal. Either way, no SD card rules me out so 3G problem is irrelevant ;)

Just worked out the approximate cost of buying and shipping to the UK

£154.606

So not much of a saving (just in case you were thinking the same as me)

Yes but like Paul said, at least they haven't done £1=$1 like a lot of american companies, and also this is the cheapest tablet in the uk made by a big manufacturer so it's a great price regardless

also on ebuyer for £199 including delivery so no need to pay the £9.99 google charges for delivery.

however i guess there is no £15 play store credit....

just another option if you don't care on play store credit

also, they say they are expecting to ship 27th of july. so we no the date this nexus tablet finally arrives :D

edit: also quidco. 196 ish

Am I mistaken or can you not just get 3g on you phone and turn on wifi hotspot so the tablet can utilise it ?

BTW There is NO 3g in my area for like 30 miles in any direction DOOOOH

looks good value though I must admit

You can but a lot of mobile operators don't like it, I know mine doesn't. I'm wondering it you could potentially use your phone as a wifi hotspot to share media to the nexus, so stick a 32gb card in your phone and share away

yes can be done. but alot slower than actually having an sd card. plus more awkward.

We don't even have a stable cm9 yet. Don't expect cm10 before Christmas.

shouldn't be too long before betas are released as ics to jb is a much smaller jump than gb to ics.

tho don't get your hopes up. will still take a while.

Do you mean for Skate or in general? Even just for Skate, CFX is seems more or less perfectly stable. Things don't work but that's got nothing to do with stability.
