I own the u8818 so i can update it via online upgrade.

But as i understood here, the BL locked so no root/recovery.

Will have to wait until there will be a solution .

But we got one more step to full working 4.0 cocked roms.

OK it turns out my download hadn't stopped and has finished :D

Although saying that, the script is giving a load of CRC errors when trying to extract the UPDATE.APP. Is it definitely the right one for the g300?

the script comments section indicates its the old one that's been floating around for a few years for the older updata.app wrapper.

It's a modded version of the old one. He didn't change the comments but it is definitely different.

You can't install update.apps via CWM. It is not CWM's format but instead Huawei's.

This irreversibly flashes your radio and bootloader.
