Guest Shens Posted July 1, 2012 Report Posted July 1, 2012 Hello everyone, I was hoping I could get some help here. :) Earlier today I decided to try and flash my Monte Carlo via the help of http://montecarlophone.co.uk/ I followed all of the instructions provided and made it to Clockwork Recovery mod - when I go to "choose zip from sdcard" and then select Skatie's ROM (v1.1), it attempts to install the package but then says "Installation Aborted". I can no longer do anything with my phone and I'm rather confused as to what to do next. Thanks for reading. :)
Guest C3C0 Posted July 1, 2012 Report Posted July 1, 2012 What installation option of skatie have you tried? In case of installing through cwm, you have to use option2... Option 1 is for tpt type of flash. It's all written in skatie topic so try reading it once again.
Guest Shens Posted July 1, 2012 Report Posted July 1, 2012 Hi, Thanks for replying. I did install TPT and I do have it by pressing Up/Menu/Power button. However, no matter what I do, it always says "Installation Aborted" when trying to install it. And like a fool, I didn't make a backup of my old ROM so I'm a little stuck. Apologies, I'm really new to this. :(
Guest C3C0 Posted July 1, 2012 Report Posted July 1, 2012 I don't understand. You either use option 1 (tpt) or option 2 (cwm), not both.
Guest Shens Posted July 1, 2012 Report Posted July 1, 2012 OK, sorry. I'll try to explain exactly what I did. I used this site and followed its instructions with a custom ROM which is the Skatie one: http://montecarlophone.co.uk/orange-monte-carlo/debrand-install-custom-rom/choose-download-rom/ Obviously, this hasn't worked, hence my dilema.
Guest utternoob Posted July 1, 2012 Report Posted July 1, 2012 Sounds like you have tried to flash option 1 Skatie through CWM. Put option 1 on SD Card and press power, menu and volume up. Should boot in Skatie
Guest C3C0 Posted July 1, 2012 Report Posted July 1, 2012 Try to follow the instructions in my original thread:
Guest Shens Posted July 1, 2012 Report Posted July 1, 2012 I'm such a tool, option 1 failed because the actual download was corrupted. Option 2 is installing now. Thanks a lot. I appreciate your time. :)
Guest C3C0 Posted July 1, 2012 Report Posted July 1, 2012 Also take your time to checkout my other rom that's based on newer android. You might like it.
Guest Shens Posted July 1, 2012 Report Posted July 1, 2012 Dakujem! If I'm honest, I had enough trouble updating once and I'm loving how fast everything is now with this rom. I'll definitely give your other one a go in the future though. Thanks again.
Guest C3C0 Posted July 1, 2012 Report Posted July 1, 2012 No problem. If you're staying with skatie for now, I encourage you to use online kitchen to update to the latest 2.4 version (if you already didn't)
