What is "Software Upgrade" In Storage settings?

Just thought I'd ask before clckig on it! It's not the firmware or sftware update (both of which come back with 'no updates available') but is buried in a different menu. It's in settings storage.

Running stock ROM only just got it and turned it on!

What does it do?

think its for internal sd card but never tried it either.

It's for installing an upgrade from an SD card rather than OTA.
