Overriding Android phone firmware limitations

Hi all,

In fact I installed the new ZTE Blade ColdFusionX ROM on my phone.

So I'm now on 4.0 firmware instead of the 2.1 phone's default (I was on 2.2 but it doesn't matter for this thread).

Is it normal that I can't access/view apps (on the play store using my phone) that require version higher than 2.1 (my phone default firmware) ?

While I'm trying to access those apps on the market I'm being told that my ZTE Blade is not compatible with the application (due to firmware version)....

Why can't I access apps with firmware higher than 2.1 while I'm now using 4.0 firmware ?

Is there a way to avoid / override it (efficiently) ? (like a proxy, a configuration alternation telling the market I'm another phone, ...) ??

You should be able to? Try searching for Apex Launcher as that requires 4.0 minimum and see if it shows up.

The apps show up for me.

You've cross posted this in another thread (plesae don;t do that!) where I've answered you.

It's nothing to do with the firmware. It's most likely ARMv7.
