Guest CurtisAndroidSF2 Posted July 4, 2012 Report Posted July 4, 2012 Hello, I decided to fix my old laptop and replace Windows with Linux Ubuntu, finally finished doing everything I need to do, now I'm interested in the Android aspect of using Linux, do you know where I can start to read up and hopefully get involved in creating ROM's? Thanks, Curtis.
Guest Dazzozo Posted July 4, 2012 Report Posted July 4, 2012 Depends whether you want to customise or build from source. I probably can't help you with the former.
Guest CurtisAndroidSF2 Posted July 4, 2012 Report Posted July 4, 2012 Customize- Building from source looks terrifying.
Guest BLu3HaZe Posted July 4, 2012 Report Posted July 4, 2012 Something I've been interested too for quite sometime, but haven't yet got anywhere in terms of progress. So as we saw recently with the new batch of ROMs which popped up, there are a fair bit of people here on the Crescent forum with the interest, so may I suggest raverrr and Daz try to do up some guide or so in your free time to help any keen people start modding? :) With the two of you, both building from source and customizing a base are covered, right?
Guest jasonleeds Posted July 4, 2012 Report Posted July 4, 2012 i found some really useful threads on xda, also some good ones here too. just do a search for a rom kitchen and setting up your own.
Guest BLu3HaZe Posted July 5, 2012 Report Posted July 5, 2012 (edited) I too found some on XDA, but just like a FAQ which we really need as a top priority, it'd be nice to have our own simple guide too. Was just a suggestion anyway, which maybe good for many. Edited July 5, 2012 by BLu3HaZe
