Guest RandomNinja Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 (edited) My girlfriend is having a problem with her ZTE Skate phone, it was working all fine and dandy until yesterday. The thing being that when making it call although everything sounds okay on the Skates end, on the recieveing end, a voice cannot be heard and it sends over garbled sounds that's like when someone is moving around with a wired headset and the Mic is rubbing off their clothes, sometimes the phone stops making these garbled sounds and you can heard the person although it being low. The phone is currently running Coldfusion X CM9. The problem doesn't persist when I put in a headset, so I'm assuming that it's something wrong with the hardware. If anybody has experienced this problem, or has any recommendations it would be grately apprieciated. Edited July 6, 2012 by RandomNinja
Guest iReece Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 I'd recommend performing a clean restore. (factory reset) If that fails or just doesn't please you, reflash the ROM. If THAT fails, try the stock rom (if you don't have it, search the forums. I think it's a pinned thread) and try that... If all else fails, it's a hardware problem... But, it might not be? My back speaker decided not to work after using a custom ROM. A few weeks later, it sparked back to life!
Guest Josh92 Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 I'm now having the same issue with CFX, not entirely sure why, don't think it happened straight after updating. Any ideas before I have to do a fresh install? Will be too busy to do it till the evening anyway.
Guest rufus2005 Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 I had the same problem a few weeks ago. Bad design fault allows dirt etc to build up in the hole where the mic is, just take back off phone, remove all screws and carefully pull bottom half of screen away slightly and use a needle or something to clear the hole out. Problem solved!!
Guest Parts7872 Posted August 22, 2012 Report Posted August 22, 2012 Hi I too have followed this advice and have got the mic working but the volume is not up to much. Is it possible to by a new mic board ? if so from where
