Updating a 2.3.7 ROM from ZIP file - what am I doing wrong?

I installed "Update 11", let it boot (fine) and then downloaded "Update 29", installed it without formatting ANYTHING (they don't explain things properly!) and guess what - it's STUCK on "Huawei" logo.

Please, tell me what I am missing out, caused by what THEY missed out, on the "tutorial" (I use the term loosely).
