Guest edwardecl Posted July 7, 2012 Report Posted July 7, 2012 I've tried rooting the phone mounting /system read/write with various uninstallers but they all fail to delete the apps... Looking around on the phone I noticed these apps are in... /cust/unicom/cn/app Is it safe just to remove everything in that directory? or will android still try and start the services and fail and cause problems when I reboot the phone (stuff like womail is run without user interaction). Or is there a better way of doing this?
Guest Dazzozo Posted July 7, 2012 Report Posted July 7, 2012 I think it's safe to format the cust partition completely.
Guest edwardecl Posted July 7, 2012 Report Posted July 7, 2012 Ahh never mind, if you mount /cust read-write you can uninstall the apps... Didn't realise it was a different mount point.
Guest rosco-85 Posted July 8, 2012 Report Posted July 8, 2012 How do you unistall the Unicome apps exactly? I've mounted the /cust partition in CWM, but what's the next step after that...? I was worried that formatting the partiton might cause issues! Thanks, Ross
Guest wrtease Posted July 8, 2012 Report Posted July 8, 2012 just use AntTek app manager .use have root then this does it .i use it and works fine .
Guest Ellis456q Posted July 8, 2012 Report Posted July 8, 2012 I removed both fine, the one with Chinese writing and the other forgot what app I used but no problems so far.
Guest rosco-85 Posted July 8, 2012 Report Posted July 8, 2012 Yeah, but I flashed the Vendor pack, so I've got lots of Chinese Apps. Would rather format the /cust parttion if I knew that was safe. Just so I can rid of them in a oner! Has anyone successfully done this?
Guest wrtease Posted July 8, 2012 Report Posted July 8, 2012 use that app it does it .i did .no crap left on mine.
Guest rosco-85 Posted July 8, 2012 Report Posted July 8, 2012 (edited) Okay, thanks. I'll give it a bash! Edited July 8, 2012 by rosco-85
Guest rosco-85 Posted July 8, 2012 Report Posted July 8, 2012 (edited) Took a chance and formatted the /cust partition. Worked a treat! Got rid of all chinese stuff (bar two apps) and removed the Unicom splash screen (back to standard Android splash). Edited July 8, 2012 by rosco-85
Guest edwardecl Posted July 8, 2012 Report Posted July 8, 2012 I just used a root uninstaller after mounting /cust as writable... the remaining apps are in /data/dataapp/ I think... Is /cust there when you don't flash the vendor file, or does the vendor file just create symlinks or something?
Guest wwwjunk Posted July 8, 2012 Report Posted July 8, 2012 Formated /cust in cwm recovery and it's all ok ;)
Guest sweetnabo Posted July 9, 2012 Report Posted July 9, 2012 is safe to delete ChnUnicomAutoReg ? (in /system/app)
Guest wwwjunk Posted July 9, 2012 Report Posted July 9, 2012 I installed ICS (without vendor folder), gapps and zeam launcher. Then removed these ones and did a factory reset. It all works as i want. AccountAgent.apk AllBackup.apk android_v16_common_v104_6.apk ApkBatchInstall.apk Calendar.apk CalendarProvider.apk ChnUnicomAutoReg.apk Exchange.apk HandWritingSimpPack.apk Hispace.apk HwBeyondTheSkyTheme_Small.apk HwBluetoothImport.apk HwDawnTheme_small.apk HwGPMS.apk HwIME.apk HwLauncher5_NormalPlus.apk HwOUC.apk HwWiFiHotspot.apk LiveWallpapers.apk LiveWallpapersPicker.apk MagicSmokeWallpapers.apk MMITest_II.apk MMITest_record.apk MyCalendar.apk MyEmail.apk NotePad.apk OMACP.apk PinyinPack.apk PotterUnlock.apk ProjectMenuAct.apk Protips.apk TotemWeather.apk Unicomclient.apk VisualizationWallpapers.apk ChromeBookmarksSyncAdapter.apk GenieWidget.apk GoogleBackupTransport.apk GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk GoogleFeedback.apk GooglePartnerSetup.apk GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk MediaUploader.apk NetworkLocation.apk OneTimeInitializer.apk Talk.apk VoiceSearch.apk
Guest michal.siman Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 You cannot use voice search, gtalk, sync calendar ... your removing list is to big :-) for me!
Guest lupone22 Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 ive instaled antekk app manager and i cant delete the apps....he says check if nand is unlocked ? any idea ?
Guest Rico_89 Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 Took a chance and formatted the /cust partition. Worked a treat! Got rid of all chinese stuff (bar two apps) and removed the Unicom splash screen (back to standard Android splash). Just to confirm that would be; Boot into CWM then [- Mounts and storage] then [ -format /cust]. One question, will I lose data and have to reinstall all of my apps? Thanks for any info.
Guest Davidoff59 Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 Rico and lupone, just use a root browser. I think I read that ez file explorer works fine to remove these apps but I have used rom Toolbox by jrummy for a while with no problems.

I'm not too bothered about the apps, seeing as I didn't install the vendor folder, but getting rid of the Unicom splash screen would be great.
Guest Davidoff59 Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 not possible at the moment unless you flash miui and use the tool provided by genokolar
