Switching from a Blade to a Skate!

Even though it took me a while after 1 and a half year my trusted blade will retire for ever since the screen is broken in pieces by my little son :). I got my self a Skate even though the Huawei Honor was very tempting I resisted giving 100 euro more since a Skate is a big upgrade already over my blade in everything! The most pleasant thing about the Skate is that despite a 4.3 screen it is very easy to hold and use with 1 hand (a major factor for me) thanks to it's slim and well designed exterior!

Back while I had my Blade I installed Ginger Stir Fry (was 19 version I believe) and never looked back. No issues at all! I am looking for something similar. A very fast and steady rom without many useless visual features that will not have problems. Also I believe a sound enchancement for the speaker would be welcome!

As I looked to the big number of available roms, I needed some help on finding the perfect one! Seems the H3 Blues is a pretty good candidate for that. I also saw the Ice Scream rom but there's a bit bugs left and also Ice Armor 2 doesn't have the sound enchancement. Correct me if my facts are wrong. Or also you can suggest anything that would come close to the needs I specified above.

Now two questions!

A.) Since I will be modding my Skate, in case I ever need the guarantee, the best solution is to take a backup of the original state of my Skate and keep it in case I need to send my phone back within the guarantee period. Is this correct or do I need more so they don't find out I ever modded my Skate?

B.) In order to transfer ALL of my application data (saves etc.) I need to back up with Titanium Backup? If I take a backup I just restore with the new rom and it restores applications and their data into their new rom without any issues at all?

Thank you in advance for helping me!

A Yes, do a full backup just in case

B Not sure but maybe no. I wouldn't to be safe

I'd recommend H3 Blues based on what you've said you're looking for. It's pretty basic, battery is good and everything is perfectly stable.

I'm using Atomicmod at the moment mainly because i love the ICS theme. It's also an excellent Rom, although it has several added features you may not need/want.

Both of these Roms have Dolby, so the sound is noticeably better than any of the CM Roms.

Also, whilst it's always a good idea to backup anyway, you can return to a factory state reasonably easily regardless provided the file you need to download is still available on this site, which I presume it is.

Thank you for your answers. I will probably try H3 today and see how it goes!

HMm I checked my stock rom is:

ZTE SKATE

2.3.5

Baseband Version:

P743B01

Kernel Version:

2.6.35.7-perf+

zte-kernel@zdroid-SMT

Build number:

GB_NEURNF_P743V1.0.0.B01

It's not in the stock roms section that means I have to take a backup. How do I do this without harming my current state?

I installed rom manager via market but asks for Superuser, won't this hurt the stock rom I wanted to backup in the first place?

edit: By hurting I mean making my stock rom look unlocked in case I need to back it for waranty issues.

I don't need to unlock my phone since I use it in the same country and company I bought it. All I need is to make a good back up of my original rom (not found uploaded everywhere) and than load a new rom. In case I made it too complicated so far. What way should I do it? I am looking at all the threads don't think I am lazy I just couldn't find any solution to this situation.

1) What country are you in? Unlocking your phone won't invalidate your warranty in the UK, however that may not be the case elsewhere.

2) The easiest way to backup your rom, in my experience at least, is to install CWM and do it through there. CWM can be removed later should you need to return your phone to stock.
