Guest syinet Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 (edited) Hi All, I thought it may be useful for people to post pictures of the various cases out there so that people can make the right decision when parting with their cash. The two cases I have are: Flash Superstore Huawei Ascend G300 LCD Screen Protector And Solid Pattern Gel Skin Cover Grey (£5.50 + free p&p) http://www.amazon.co...duct/B0082CKZZS Good coverage of the phone, feels very grippy. The screen protector they sent with this was really thin and therefore a few bubbles, crap really. Nillkin Hard Case Cover + LCD Guard For Huawei Ascend G300 NFC U8818 U8815 RED (£5.88 + free p&p) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130708470186 Nice feel to the case, but doesn't cover the top and bottom of the front of the phone very well, will probably stick with the flash one above until i care less about the phone anyway. Very good screen protector, you can hardly tell there is one on there. Edited July 10, 2012 by syinet
Guest rosco-85 Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 (edited) I got this one on eBay. Perfect fit and great quality. Does the job nicely! £5.29 delivered: http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1439.l2649 Edited July 10, 2012 by rosco-85
Guest k123456 Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 More expensive , unfortunately, but Im not mad on screen protectors, so had to get one with a case cover for screen, this is the only one I found designed for phone. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Imak-Folio-Leather-Case-Cover-LCD-Guard-Huawei-Ascend-G300-NFC-U8818-U8815-/130714383526?_trksid=p5197.m1992&_trkparms=aid%3D111000%26algo%3DREC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D14%26meid%3D525948367421697242%26pid%3D100015%26prg%3D1006%26rk%3D1%26
Guest sandrogp Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 @rosco-85 @k123456 : I think you're both off-topic. There is another thread in here somewhere for links to ebay/amazon. I think the whole point of THIS thread is for people to post their own pictures of how their OWN cases, that they actually received, fit on their phones in real life as a better guidance when buying than a PR shot by the seller.
Guest Andymac1969 Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 Hi, I got two from here http://www.casesss.c...odel=89&pid=402 took about 4 days to arrive, and they are very grippy in the hand, they are also a very snug fit on the phone, no gaps or wriggling when in the case, all the holes lie up spot on, and no issues pressing the volume or on/off button Andrew

I do very much like the idea of people posting pictures of their cases, but it seems to me that there will inevitably be questions in this thread about cases and where to get them from, so this thread may as well be merged with the Protective cases thread. Guest Zoranic Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 (edited) Hi Just thought I'd share a case I found on eBay -it's meant for the Samsung i9000 Galaxy S but it's a perfect fit. Toggle buttons work although the camera lens is obscured (or protected depending on how you look at it!): Very pleased with it especially at 99p delivered http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271005033671 The only other case I liked the look at was this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230820217475 but that's a long wait from China plus I like the vertical flip notebook type flip more. I picked up a £2 Samsung i9000 cradle hoping it might do the job for charging but the micro-USB is the wrong way around (still fits and works of course). That's a shame as I'd really like a dock/cradle. Any recommendations? This is a great forum BTW :) correction: changed to "i9000 Galaxy S" Edited July 12, 2012 by Zoranic
Guest Pondlife Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 It was meant for the s3? I can't see how it's not way too big then
Guest Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 (edited) I have the horizontal flip one for my wife - not got the phone in yet as I'm waiting for Ir1 before I stick the phone to the tape fastener. Nicely made - not sure how well it will hold though. Will check out the S3 one. EDIT: Got the i9000 as shown. Not very impressed. No hole for camera and phone barely fits - a light knock and it will be out. Thankfully it was only 99p but I wouldn't recommend it. Edited July 14, 2012 by Guest
Guest HuaweiAscend Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 I bought an eBay special "Meifeng" case, and it came with a screen protector. Very impressed with it, in all honesty. I bought it from a UK seller, but the Far East item number is 200748216331 if you wish to search for it on eBay! Some pics below. You can see a faint silver ring between the screen and the case, looks very nice, and obviously covers up the white/silver backing.

This is a great forum BTW :) Hi Zoranic! I'll be picking up my Ascend G300 tomorrow morning. I was thrilled to see your post but I have to ask the following. You state that "it's meant for the Samsung S3 but it's a perfect fit" but when I follow the suplied link to e-bay it says that it's for the Samsung Galaxy S (i9000). Can we assume that it is indeed the one on the link supplied (Galaxy S)? If so, and being a perfect fit as you say and your photos demonstrate it, there's two things that I want to share! This will be my next acquisition, as it will go just perfect in my car as I already have a ProClip unusedThis dock/cradle, will be a good bet as well! Please feel free to comment! Thanks!
Guest Zoranic Posted July 12, 2012 Report Posted July 12, 2012 (edited) Yes, sorry I meant "i9000 Galaxy S" -exactly as that link http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271005033671 That's the case I have. That cradle LG Optimus http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280756945262 looks like the USB is the wrong way around. The Huawei needs the short end to the back like http://www.modaco.co...dock-or-cradle/ Edited July 12, 2012 by Zoranic

I bought an eBay special "Meifeng" case, and it came with a screen protector. You can see a faint silver ring between the screen and the case, looks very nice, and obviously covers up the white/silver backing. It seems a shame they didn't make it just slightly larger so that it would cover up the silver completely.

I have a leather Galaxy S case, just put the G300 in it and it fits perfectly, the only drawback is the G300 does not 'click' into place, it just sits inside the holding arms, but it is a perfect fit Andrew
Guest Ellis456q Posted July 13, 2012 Report Posted July 13, 2012 Hi I got the galaxy s case today the ones you posted for 99p, and it's alright. it's not 100% snug but holds ok.Thanks for posting.
Guest Ellis456q Posted July 13, 2012 Report Posted July 13, 2012 Also if anyones after a slide in case where the phone will fit even with the plastic cover on this is fine: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280890711718?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

Or was it posted from europe/sweden? Are those cases the more rigid gel-type that doesn't squish if you pinch it between your thumb and finger? Or the floppy silicone type?

Guest TangerineTractor Posted September 5, 2012 Report Posted September 5, 2012 (edited) I've got a couple of soft cases and a hard one. The "S-Line" soft case you can find on ebay for under three quid just feels too bulky. I've got a "frosted" gel case, which fits well and looks good, but I find it a little awkward to use the power button, and it makes the volume buttons too sensitive and easy to knock. I have a cheap plain black rigid case, which is perfect to use. Got it on ebay, again under three quid. It doesn't cover the top or bottom, but its curved over the corners and edges. My only complaint would be that you can still see the white of the volume buttons through the opening. I have a universal car holder with adjustable sliding bottom feet, and have positioned them so that I could superglue the usb power connector fixed into place so I can just drop the phone in - the side grips dont need to be tight as the charger keeps it steady. I used to do this years ago with old HTC phones, until they started putting the usb on the side. The holder itself was orginally a freebie from O2, but I think they have the same one in Halfords. I've just ordered a cheap Galaxy S series dock - I know the usb is the wrong way round, so I'm hoping I can open it up and spin it round... if not, I will simply yank it out and use it as a static phone stand, or see if I can make the hole bigger and put a loose usb lead through it. I'm looking at the Nillkin case, does anyone have it? It seems to be the only TPU case which is also smooth http://www.casesss.com/product.aspx?model=89&pid=417 On Ebay for £5 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nillkin-New-Soft-TPU-Skin-Case-LCD-Guard-fr-Huawei-Ascend-G300-NFC-U8818-Black-/261069759362?pt=UK_MobilePhones_MobilePhonesCasesPouches&hash=item3cc8f86382 Unfortunately no UK sellers seem to keep it.
