[ROM][ZTE Skate] LeWa ROM V960 12.08.10 (Updated 13/8/12)

This is a 2nd update for my latest LeWa ROM ported to Skate. This is LeWa latest ROM, 10.08.2012 version - cross porting with official Blade LeWa & C3C0 CyanogenMod 7.2 (Android 2.3.7)

Latest LeWa came with UI enhancement, all new default theme & maybe some touch up of frameworks, that's why we heard a lot of dialer crash (receiving calls) reports from rom porters, it happen to me too before (twice) but not for this latest release, I managed to find fix patch for this bug & made it built-in in this rom.

So far all major functions working, comfortable for daily use.

I cannot find device setting in the rom, although it has the app in system/apps folder.

Use 3rd party wifi tethering app from Play Store.

I've change this ROM to English so please do not worry about the language, original ROM also comes latin keyboard, not chinese one.

Requirements

- system partition size: at least 150MB

- cache partition size: doesn't matter

Installation instructions

- put rom ZIP to SD card

- put GSM.zip (google patch) to SD card

- reboot to ClockworkMod Recovery

- make a backup of your current rom using menu: Backup & Restore / Backup

- wipe data / factory reset

- advanced / wipe dalvik cache

- mounts & storage / format system

- install zip from sd card - choose to install rom ZIP

- install GSM.zip from sd card - choose to install gsm.zip

- reboot

- skip Google setting, let rom settle down first

- after everything ok, go to Setting - Personal - Accounts & Sync, click "ON" for both background data & auto-sync, then click add account (add yr Google account)

What about other languages?

Does Wifi tehthering work? - I'm asking since this is the most common problem when porting CM7 based rom from blade to skate :)

c3c0, dialer crash when receive a call, any idea how to fix it?

Use logcat to track error. I'm not on this rom so cannot assist.

And btw. This rom is odexed so any change at smali level requires deodexing.

i googled this problem... it seems like im not alone facing this dialer crash problem. other rom porters solved it by using 3rd party dialer, specifically ExDialer frm play store.

You should install Wife 1.5.

But it's very resource hungry...

This OS has been associated with a "privacy issue." LeWa uses Umeng (Umeng.com), which is apparently like Google Analytics (Dolphin browser uses Umeng).

Would be awesome if you fixed(just adding a filter to the hosts) this, other then that nice job. ;)

All working except native wifi tether (u can use 3rd party wifi tether frm market @ use fix frm c3c0 as posted above).

Bug: dialer crash when u receive call, solution: use 3rd party dialer frm market, ExDialer.
