Hello

I'm looking for a fast car charger, I think 1A is necessary.

I've read that a cheap usb car charger, claiming to be charging at 1A (like this one: http://www.benl.ebay.be/itm/Chargeur-voiture-noir-double-USB-de-qualite-pour-iPad-Iphone-iPod-2-1A-GSM-GPS-/320936139318?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_23&hash=item4ab948da36 ) doesn't work because the phone only charges at 350mAh, beause it thinks it's using the usb from a computer.

I already read http://www.instructables.com/id/Cheap-and-simple-USB-car-fast-charger-mod/ for making a mod.

Does our phones uses the same 'thing' to charge at 1A? Or can it be easily done with something else?

Yes, the Blade uses the data + / data - lines to detect if it's charging from USB or Mains.

The phone will charge at:

370mA with data lines NOT connected

700mA with data line connected

You can check what the phone thinks it's charging from in settings -> about phone -> status. Under battery status it'll show: discharging / charging / charging (AC)

Some car chargers have the data lines connected internally which makes them charge faster. You can force the phone to charge faster by modifying the cable or the charger yourself but please make sure you only do this if the charger is capable of supporting it.

If you just want an easy solution, get the HTC C200 car charger which you can pick up from play.com for £7.50 and comes with a spiral cable that keeps things tidy in the car. It works perfectly on the Blade. http://www.play.com/...30|prd:13562430

Thanks for the information, I had never noticed this battery charging status defference.

My Idea - ZTE Blade shows following "Discharging / Charging (USB) / Charging (AC)".
