If I use rom manager do i still have to format cache etc

It depends on the ROM, always follow the installing instructions.

cm9 cold fusion its guide just describes the method using clockwork mod

Yeah, when installing ColdFusionX you should use recovery. It isn't that hard!

/system partition can be formatted from "Mounts and Storage". There is a option to do it.

No high quality youtube video because qualcom haven't realeassd the drivers for ics

All of the ics roms need more system storage space because ics is a larger os. To do this you must flash a tpt to re jig your phone partitions to make ics fit ie make the system partition larger and data smaller.

Just Google flash tpt for ate blade for instructions on how to do it. For konstakang you need his tpt that is supplied in the same thread as the rom (2nd post I think) for cold fusion x you will need to get one with the appropriate partition sizes from amphoras.co.uk

so no advantage of cm9 over 7.2, ill still with cm7.2 but i want transparent notification bar, the top bar that displays time, battery percent
