Guest Posted August 13, 2012 Report Posted August 13, 2012 Hi all, I have had the orange san francisco for more than a year now and have been quite unsatisfied with the quality of the custom ROMS. It just seems that they die slowly. They slow down, apps stops working and then comes a point where I have to re-install the ROM. Why does this happen? My friend has an HTC desire and his phone seems to be working pretty darn well as compared to mine even though he uses his phone a lot more.
Guest targetbsp Posted August 13, 2012 Report Posted August 13, 2012 They'll slow down for the same reason Windows does. Over time you install more and more crap on them that gets loaded during startup. The Desire will be a bit more immune to it simply because it is a faster phone to start with. No idea why apps would stop working - that's not normal. There's no reason for that to happen unless the app dev puts out a bad update. You can control what gets auto loaded on your phone using this: http://www.appbrain.com/app/autostarts/com.elsdoerfer.android.autostarts
Guest deksman2 Posted August 29, 2012 Report Posted August 29, 2012 Simple solution: Remove programs you don't need or use anymore to prevent slow-downs. Same idea with Windows - if you clean up the OS of useless junk, it will function just as well as a clean install - it won't 'degrade' on its own over time though - same applies to Android I would imagine.
