Guest derei Posted August 13, 2012 Report Posted August 13, 2012 Hy, I noticed a very suspect behavior on my Huawei Ascend G300... the screen is locked (Google Locker, I disabled huawei lock screen), and there is a day or two since it does the following thing: The screen lights on, stays that way for 2-4 seconds, then turns back on. This happens 2-4 times on a row. And repeats after a while... can't understand why. I thought it tries to connect to internet, or doing some background transfer data... I reboot it, disable all internet connections, even installed antivirus and scanned it. Any ideas why it relights with no apparent reason? I mention that I had Go Launcher (I still have it, but frozen), and Go Locker (it had a delay between locking command and actual locking action, so I removed it) Thank you very much.
Guest psionandy Posted August 13, 2012 Report Posted August 13, 2012 I had a similar issue, on stock vodafone B892, with Go Launcher and locker. I'd put the phone down and suddenly it would turn itself on again... After it doing this in my pocket and flattening the battery I'd had enough. Now to be fair, I can't completely blame it on Go, as i'd been playing with a load of different apps and stuff. But as i couldn't get to the bottom of it, I did a factory reset and was more careful about what i had installed. This time going for ADW launcher instead, and things have been stable ever since.
Guest derei Posted August 13, 2012 Report Posted August 13, 2012 Do you strongly suggest factory reset, or just uninstalling Go Launcher ?
Guest psionandy Posted August 13, 2012 Report Posted August 13, 2012 Well.. I was having other stability issues at the time, so i decided to do a full reset... Uninstalling go-launcher wouldn't hurt, and is probably a useful halfway step. You could always reset later.
Guest derei Posted August 13, 2012 Report Posted August 13, 2012 It wasn't Go Launcher. But I had several apps that I installed recently. One of them was a fake night vision app, maybe it was the problem... now my phone is sleeping like a baby. Still... I have a problem with HiSuite backup... it does all, but on the apps, it raises one error, at the end. Last app cannot be processed. I have no idea which one is the last one, or how I can detect that broken app.
Guest StrayEddy Posted August 24, 2012 Report Posted August 24, 2012 I reported this issue to google. I m collecting votes where people have same issue. Please, oh please, vote here for a fix: https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=36533
Guest Mario_Cardoso Posted August 24, 2012 Report Posted August 24, 2012 I bet there is some application that is doing this. Try to find out which, uninstalling and testing one at a time.
Guest StrayEddy Posted August 24, 2012 Report Posted August 24, 2012 As mentionned in the google issue, someone thinks its the alarm clock that causes the problem, I believe it s a base android app
Guest psionandy Posted August 24, 2012 Report Posted August 24, 2012 what's your reasoning for thinking that? Since i did a full reset everything has been rock solid, and i haven't had anything similar again. So i'd tend to agree with Mario about a rouge app misbehaving,
Guest Mario_Cardoso Posted August 24, 2012 Report Posted August 24, 2012 As mentionned in the google issue, someone thinks its the alarm clock that causes the problem, I believe it s a base android app I use that application every day and don't have any issue like that! I'm using Infusion Beta.
Guest Aport Posted August 24, 2012 Report Posted August 24, 2012 Same problem, started happening after infusion rom.
Guest rupisekhon Posted September 5, 2012 Report Posted September 5, 2012 For me, the same problem was due to '3G watch Dog' app. I uninstalled it, and problem has gone.
Guest Hogweed Posted September 5, 2012 Report Posted September 5, 2012 I have had 3g watchdog installed since I bought the phone months ago. My phone never wakes up unexpectedly and battery life is good. This on GB ROMs.
