Its still tempting to switch to a smaller budget phone like the Sony xperia u and top that up with the nexus 7 for less than the next nexus will sell for though
Guest mankian Posted August 16, 2012 Report Posted August 16, 2012 ok out of curiousity then, if people still come on this forum, what is it from ICS that you really want??? I know some probably just want their phone to say 4.0.3 in the about section ;) I am wanting the encryped file system myself.... Curious what everyone else wants as I'm not really too sure what the difference between ICS/GB is...
Guest aaww Posted August 16, 2012 Report Posted August 16, 2012 Personally I am not about Curious ICS at all. I have 4 diffrent 7 inch tablets runing silky smooth ICS builds and I expect this stupid flagship phone to do what a 120$-200$ can (I know I am asking for too much) I just want to see a good performance and a functional phone that doesn't lag like hell. But again it doesn't matter because next week it goes back to the box and going on sale. I am going to get me a nexus device or a Samsung galaxy s3. The only reason I am still posting here is because I support Modaco and care about Paul's work and want to give my share to the community.
Guest everett_psycho Posted August 16, 2012 Report Posted August 16, 2012 I think the performance boost that it should bring is the main thing, the test builds of ics I've tried work a lot faster and smoother but do just have bugs, I'd hope given the time its taken and the relatively good reception the 4x has that LG might actually be able to produce a rom that turns the o2x in to what it should have been 12 months ago. The again its LG and a hope so it probably wont happen, they've probably just let the work experience kid do it
Guest mankian Posted August 17, 2012 Report Posted August 17, 2012 (edited) Normally the work experiance kids are the most enthusiastic ;) more worryingly, its probably all been off-shored. I would like it a lot if the performance is increased. I know on other phones ICS actually reduces performance due to the increased RAM requirement. o2x only has 512mb... I guess a vanilla (non-bloatware) build like CM9 should work well though Edited August 17, 2012 by mankian
Guest sui785 Posted August 18, 2012 Report Posted August 18, 2012 I dont think 512mb RAM will be ideal for ICS. Anyway if they make ICS, wouldn't it be easier for people to port JB?
Guest aaww Posted August 22, 2012 Report Posted August 22, 2012 now ics is closer than ever : http://www.modaco.co...by-samsung-yes/

I am using Gueste 1.8.1 with Z Ram enabled and it feels like a different phone.
Guest mankian Posted August 25, 2012 Report Posted August 25, 2012 to be honest no... i have had nothing but bad experiences with custom kernels so havent tried any for a while. they all seem dead quick just not stable (on my phone anyway). i been using cyanogenmod for about a year now without problems and to be honest the performance seems good, though i cannot compare to django manouche as i never tried ;)
Guest pasquiNello Posted August 30, 2012 Report Posted August 30, 2012 Ics is out for SU660, we need to wait a little more for our P990 xD http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/RNDTESTSW/LGSU660/SKT/V30a_00/V30A_00.kdz
