What is the difference and is it worth me downgrading back to GB just to upgrade to HSPA:11?

Posted

In my case I flashed clean installs of B926 then B934 to apparently set the baseband to HSPA:11

But my network type reads HSDPA:9 so It didnt work for me. But my data speeds when using the mobile network on HSDPA:9 absolutely sux

Still worth a try if your going to use your data alot. By the way im pretty sure you dont have to install gb just B926.

If someone else can answer this question for me please ??

When flashing B926 and B934 are they not full OS roms in there own right ?, and there for when flashed a clean baseband would be set. Therefore carry overs of the previous rom would persist.

If you install B926 (update.app) you then have to flash other roms like B934 in Clockwork. If you installed B934 update.app, over B926, then you would have overwritten the baseband and you'll only be able to connect at HSPDA: 9.

What you might want to try, if you have a full B934 install, is to make a nandroind back up and then install B926 update.app and then recover you backup to B934. That is what I've done and now I can change roms by flashing in clockwork and I maintain the b926 baseband. That said I still haven't seen HSPA: 11 lol I only connect at HSPDA: 9 however this could be my giffgaff connection in my area or something because sometimes it drops to 3g ..

Ok say I have done a forced update.app of B926, Then install a nandroid backup (i assume a nandroid only backs apps both system and external) then what would my version number read B926 ??

Or do you mean restoring B934 cwm backup over B926

Once you have installed the B926 update app, you can then change roms through CWM. Either a custom rom like Infusion, MIUI etc. or one of the leaked roms that have been made into a flashable zip. example: http://www.modaco.com/topic/356515-stock-rom-stock-b934-flashable-zip/

Another way is to recover a nandroid back up you might have. If you had installed B934 update.app then created a nandroid back up, you could then recover your B934 backup after you forced installed B926 update.app.

Now your build will change to what ever you have installed, so after flashing or recovering B934 your build will read B934.

Out of interest did any of the gingerbread releases support HSPA:11?
