Guest Jeeves Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 About a week ago i dropped the phone while the camera was attatched, and in typical sod's law style it landed on the camera. to cut a long story short it became very loose, but by bending connectors etc. it managed to get it secure again, but when attatched it points upwards too much i think. REQUEST 1. could someone please post a side on pic of the phone with the camera attatched 2. could someone put the phone + camera face down on a desk and then measure the height abovet the desk of of the top front of the camera (just above where the 'CE' label is) and the bottom front (where the dimple arrow point). on mine its about 5mm for the first and 9mm for the second. NB Im trying to work out if it's been bent forwards or not Cheers guys
Guest shadieb Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 Hi mate, Sorry to hear about your camera. I have had a go at doing a couple of pictures for you. Sorry if they aren't brilliant, it's nearly 2am :) The measurements are as near as I could get them, they should give you an idea of what you need to square your camera back up. Heres the measurements one :- Heres a side view :- Hope they help you get your camera back to the way it was pre accident. Best wishes.
Guest yatpeak Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 It certainly does look like it's meant to be on a slight tilt, and the measurements are like yours. I hope for your sake that there's no problem with the camera. Wyatt
Guest Jeeves Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 Cheers Guys, thats v.v.v.v.v.v.v.v.v.v.v.v.v. Helpful my camera now measures up exactly as yours does (to the nearest mm), and it still works as it did before, so looks like im out of the woods :) Only thing is the nice scar left along the bottom ;) What to do if you drop your Phone with camera (& Camera is wobbly) 1. Look @ the actual metal housing on the phones connector. Likelyhood is that it's right up against the plastic. Get a pair of scissors and prise the side nearest the batery away away from plastic. Do this until the camera is again 'difficult' to push. 2.Look at this picture: Your connector has probably been pulled out of the socket further than it was (i.e. it is higher than in the picture). what you need to do is put it againt a desk (connector first) and then press down on it quite firmly (not too hard though!). do this until the clips don't engage too early camera should once again be secure. bottom line is detach the camera when you're not using it! hope this helps anyone else who is unfortunate enough to do this.
Guest shadieb Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 Glad you got it sorted mate. Shame about the damage to the casing. Best wishes.
