Hi, recently I've posted topic about trading Skate for 3g. Now I have another phone in mind. It's HTC Desire. It's faster, better, armv7 and it cost same as Skate. Is it smart to trade Skate for Desire? I don't mind smaller screen(it's not big deal...from 4.3" to 4.0"), but I personaly think it's better phone. What do you think? I

Hmm. My Grandad has a Desire HD and loves it to bits, completely stock apart from being sim free. It runs OK, but Desire has lesser screen res and hardware I think. Should run quite well with most custom ROMs for it. Seeing as it's armv7 it shouldn't struggle with much, but need to test it to be sure

Yeah I think that's a step forward, but keep in mind that the screen is 3,7", so it's a bit smaller than you say. Resolution is the same though, so the screen is a bit sharper.

It's also a phone with a very active devving community, so you're good on that front as well. But if you're getting it now, it must be quite old.

Well, it's not less then 60£. Used Desire can be found for 100€. Same as used Skate.

Get the g300, same price new and same clock speed, screen red etc.

Well, 2 years old, not much outdated. And on g300, i think that Desire is better phone.

I think I'd go G300 over Desire. Well I definitely would for screen size, but ignoring that I still would.

On Antutu Benchmark, my Skate got ~2100 points. G300(not OC) got 3200(ICS) and 2700(GB), and Desire got ~6500, but they are OC.

Before OC my Skate god ~1900 and now 2100, so i think that G300 can't get more than 4000. And personaly I think that Desire is better option then G300. That's my opinion, if I'm wrong correct me :-)

Huh that seems a pretty big difference, surprising. They're pretty similarly spec'ed (http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=3077&idPhone2=4594). Didn't realise the Scorpion was some much better than a cortex A5 at the same clock speed.

It's really up to you, build quality on the Desire will be better (though G300 doesn't seem half bad at all for the money!), upside to the G300 is it'll be brand new & has 4gb of built in storage which should be plenty for apps saving you using Link2SD. Desire's built in storage is probably it's biggest downfall at 512mb, same as the Skate so would need Link2SD unless you use barely any apps.

Check out the modding boards for each device. Think Desire is mostly on XDA & G300 here on Modaco.

Yes, I was amazed when I have found that. Well in my country price of g300 is same as used Galaxy S. So, if I had money I would get S instead of g300.
