hi guys.

is there really any point in looking further than the CyanogenMod 7.2 for the blade?

i'm full of admiration for the guys trying to develop ics & jb but they were never meant for the blade so i doubt they will ever work properly.

personally, i bought the orange san francisco and came across this article:

modaco.com/topic/329643-orangesanfranciscocouk-updated-feb-2012

and i couldn't resist having a go but the best rom available at the time was the rls3 (froyo).

i installed it & loved it for nearly a year before installing CyanogenMod 7.2 (gingerbread) which i've found to be 100% stable and has all the features & tweaks i could ever wish for.

sure, if a 100% stable jb became available i'd take a look.

but until then my advise to fellow novices is to stay away from those threads involved, leave it to the developers who i'm sure don't need the likes of us going on about this & that not working & how soon will they fix it.

just enjoy your blade! :)

Is there any point to want to extended the functionalities of a product to the maximum it can go? Any point in exploring how far one can go?

Yes, for the sake of curiosity and challenge, to achieve more than what was thought to be the limit.

There's no such thing as a 100% stable OS, nothing is full-proof. Developers try their best to make it as stable as possible, not just for them to use, but also for the common good of everyone interested in testing them. Without developers and testers, there would be no need for this website at all, and you would be bound by what ZTE would send out as updates.

Staying at GB is your choice, there are plenty of options. I like to try out new things, stability and my patience can sometimes be taken to the limit, but it is that discovery, that testing if it can go the extra mile that is the life force of this website, of science and humanity.

Final remark, enjoying one's blade to me is seeing how far it can go, not to stay within the boundaries that are already known to work. And I'm sure that many here will feel exactly the same way.

As a user, I thank all developers for their patience and outstanding work. That's the reason I went to Android, to explore and belong to this wonderfull looking to the future community.

Just be careful, i've come to the point where i tinker with my phones software more than i actually use the damn thing for what it was intended for. :D

Off to install another ROM, PA-CM10, i have four roms installed in loop files on the sdcard and one in nand but i have so much space on my SD card that i might as well just install another loop rom. :D

CM9 should be more stable than CM10 at the moment, and that's something you were mentioning.

Maybe try out CM9 instead of CM10 for the time being?

too late!

cm-10-20120821-KonstaKANG-blade + gapps-jb-20120815-KonstaKANG installed & running like a dream. :D

KonstaT is a genius.

as long as you accept what is & isn't working then you should be as thrilled as i am. :)

Good reason to bump it, you found there.

He's actually asking for something that pertains to this section a bit of peace and quiet rather than "can you fix this ASAP" which i have seen in a multitude of threads.

It's extremely rude, make the report on the error but don't do it in the form of a bloody order. You paid exactly squat for the blood sweat and tears of the developers work and now you DEMAND they fix something? Get over yourselves.
