Official Vodafone ics?

hiya!

I've been out the loop for ages :P So, have Vodafone released official Ics for the g300? I picked up a voda magazine thingy in store and it advertises the g300 as an ics device.

Huawei have relesed an ICS version, B934 but no Vodafone update as yet

No OTA update yet, although an ICS upgrade (B934, previously leaked) has been published by Huawei on their site and they've stated on Twitter that it is in fact "the full version of the international ICS upgrade for the Ascend G300". However, again on Twitter they've recommended UK customers to wait for "a customized version of ICS for UK’s G300 Vodafone" that "will release later this year".

Hello,

Total noob question :D

I have the version U8815V100R001C02B892 andriod on the G300. Can I still upgrade to ICS using the official ICS download released on the Huawei website? I've saved the file to the Micro SD card, but wanted to check here in case I brick my phone.

Should not be an issue Onikami as its an official upgrade. Was your B892 an official release or a leaked rom? If it was leaked, it may error out

it was an official version. I just tried it, but it failed to update. tried twice. will leave it and wait for the official over the air upgrade......

strange though, having looked at the pdf that comes with the download, my u88...b892 isn't listed as one of the versions that can be upgraded. odd.

892 was probably a leaked rom then so thats why its not on the list.

it's official. i downloaded it over the air then rooted the phone (well got my bro to root it as i'm clueless about these things).

Oh yes sorry, hard keeping up with them all. They are releasing a Vodafone ics later this year so that may be why

yeah i had the same problem - i ended up trying b926. That worked but has no market etc, so I tried b934 again - that still wouln't update, so I flashed tillaz's re-packaged b934 which worked perfectly.

Qoute taken from giffGaff forum, after Zadro spoke to Vodafone customer support.

They also said that the G300 has been withdrawn and that the latest date for an ICS update is end of October. They are already selling the P1 with ICS and Huawei have launched the 330 with ICS so there can not be much future for the 300.

Could be a long few weeks yet!!!!

Just waiting for someone to upload a copy for us to try out. Hopefully official UK release won't be too far behind
