Guest Rico_89 Posted August 27, 2012 Report Posted August 27, 2012 (edited) Well the BBC iPlayer app is impossible, while running ICS, so don't use it. Just load your favourite browser, I use Dolphin HD, and go to the iPlayer website... and that's it. All of the content is there and the quality is outstanding, with no lip sync issues. Hope this helps someone. Edited August 27, 2012 by Rico_89
Guest Smiff2 Posted August 27, 2012 Report Posted August 27, 2012 (edited) so Flash is ok? what is BBC app using then? Edited August 27, 2012 by Smiff2
Guest Rico_89 Posted August 27, 2012 Report Posted August 27, 2012 so Flash is ok? what is BBC app using then? Flash works great.. just some apps are terrible, so it's best to just go to the site and view from there.
Guest RussellS Posted August 27, 2012 Report Posted August 27, 2012 I've just tired it, also using the dolphin browser and iPlayer still stutters and has lip sync problems. Also, the picture doesn't fit in the display, its almost as if the screen is zoomed in by 150%. However, that may just be a setting somewhere. With respect to the stuttering problems, this happened with every ICS rom I've tried.

Did you double tap the screen until the progression bar showed up on the bottom of the screen??
Guest Hogweed Posted August 27, 2012 Report Posted August 27, 2012 Just a reminder Flash Player 11.1.for Android 4.0 (11.1.115.17) is the latest Flash for ICS (at time of writing). There are different version of Flash for GB and ICS. Latest for GB is Flash Player 11.1 for Android 2.x and 3.x (11.1.111.16) Flash Archive Page at http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html
Guest RussellS Posted August 27, 2012 Report Posted August 27, 2012 (edited) Ah ha. Really?? damn I get none of those issues .. Did you double tap the screen until the progression bar showed up on the bottom of the screen?? Rico, you are a godsend. Thank you. You were right, when I double tap the screen the video goes to full screen mode and then the display is the right size. Also, the stuttering and lip sync issues are gone. You always assume that non full screen mode meansd that the video will not fill the screen but in this case it meant that the video was too big. It's still a shame that the iPlayer app doesn't work properly in ICS. I used to use it all the time in GB and it was always perfect. But anyway, thanks again Rico. PS. I have checked my Flash Player version and I do have version 11.1.115.17 which is the correct version for ICS. Edited August 27, 2012 by RussellS
Guest Rico_89 Posted August 27, 2012 Report Posted August 27, 2012 Great news RussellS, I was just thinking if I was the only one. :P It 's a shame that the iPlayer app is basically useless but at least the work around is easy and trouble free.
