Guest fr0do Posted September 2, 2012 Report Posted September 2, 2012 The G500 supports tethering (settings > wireless networks > more). Some operators (ie giffgaff) don't allow it (using your phone as a way to supply a web connection to other devices) without a specific contract. You can use an app to manage direct access to your phone such as "Software Data Cable". You can share files wirelessly like that.

Just to make things clear you can tether as much as you like with GiffGaff using their Gigabags but not the unlimited Goodybags.

You mean G300 right ? :) I wasn't talking about Tethering or Hotspot.Several friends have Samsung Galaxy S2 and under wireless networks they have the wifi direct options. In the end I think it's just another mistake regarding the specs of the phone and wifi direct is not supported I installed and used "Software Data Cable". Very nice app and very easy to use - 26 MB transferred in under 10 seconds between 2 devices - sweet ;) .It kinda does the same thing Edited September 7, 2012 by Cr33p
