How to get rid of threaded conversations in Gmail

If you're like me and prefer your mail "normal" not threaded, here's how to do it...

You need to set up an Exchange/Corporate email account (if you don't have it as an option in your accounts, use the Stock Email app from the Infusion thread)

Set up the account using username [email protected], domain empty, then go into manual setup and set the server as m.google.com.

You can then turn off the gmail app and sync, as it will all be done through the corporate connector instead, and use the standard email app.

If you have multiple email acocunts set up, you can add a shortcut to specific inboxes on the home screen. I used Nova/Apex launcher and the Jelly Bean theme icon set to change the home screen icon on the gmail inbox to the standard gmail icon.

Does for me - just tried it.

I have a very simple label called "filed" that I just shove everything that I want to keep in - it works absolutely fine. It may be that youi have to go into gmail and make the folder visible over imap - I know it's not using imap, but you had to do the same thing on my old Blackberry to enable it to sync.

sorry, I was not at all clear, I meant that incoming mail cant be archived in to its auto-filtered label with a single ('archive' action) like the native imap client, you can manually move it to a label but if you have a lot of labels that can be a scrolling pain ;)
