Will my phone update to ICS via OTA, even though I have changed operator?

I bought a g300 from Vodafone and got it unlocked. It now has a Virgin Mobile SIM in it. I believe that Vodafone are due to roll out an OTA update to android 4 sometime this year. Will I still receive the update, even though I am no longer on Vodafone's network, or will I need to put their SIM back in to receive it? Also, it OTA truely Over The Air, or is it also delivered via an internet connection while the phone is connected to my broadband connection?

It'll poll an internet address for updates so can be downloaded over wifi. Doesn't matter what sim you have :)
