Guest Tootiredparent Posted September 1, 2012 Report Posted September 1, 2012 New to this rooted g300 thought lovely all good but battery discharges in about 4 to 5 hours from full charge mainlyon standby. Does any one have any ideas? Am I best doing a factory restore to put it back to original. Have tried another battery but exactly same thing happens. Help me please
Guest igors_s Posted September 1, 2012 Report Posted September 1, 2012 (edited) what rom are you using? I'm on Infusion with no mods and it lasts ages on standby. about 6% per night. drains quite quickly when in use though. Edited September 1, 2012 by igors_s
Guest Tootiredparent Posted September 2, 2012 Report Posted September 2, 2012 Not worked out how to put any rooms on yet. Just unlocked and then rooted the phone is this my problem?
Guest Aport Posted September 2, 2012 Report Posted September 2, 2012 Best thing you can do is to downloas JuiceDefender and install omegamon kernel ( i think thats name ).And then you set to smartassv2 and put minimum clock speed to lowest possible.
Guest Davidoff59 Posted September 2, 2012 Report Posted September 2, 2012 it must be an app keeping the phone awake
Guest psionandy Posted September 2, 2012 Report Posted September 2, 2012 Something similar happened to me, one day the phone was in my pocket, and the battery kept zooming down and the screen kept coming on. http://www.modaco.com/topic/356573-loacked-screen-turns-on-randomly/ I have a feeling that you can either spend time trying to find the rouge app that's doing it, or bite the bullet and do a factory reset, to wipe your phone completely.. then install apps one by one until you find out that there's no problem, or you've found the one that causes the problem.
Guest droiddruid Posted September 2, 2012 Report Posted September 2, 2012 (edited) BetterBatteryStats bought from the Play Store or for free on Xda will tell you what is keeping your phone 'awake' Regarding Juice Defender... I can't see the logic in running another app to save battery power. I am capable of switching off wifi when not in use etc etc though I never do so. Edited September 2, 2012 by droiddruid
Guest Tootiredparent Posted September 3, 2012 Report Posted September 3, 2012 Have tried uninstalling as many apps as I can and will see how it goes for a couple of days then if needed will do a factory restore. Will this network lock the phone again? Thanks for the great advce
Guest bladebuddy Posted September 3, 2012 Report Posted September 3, 2012 No you're phone will stay unlocked.

Guest droiddruid Posted September 3, 2012 Report Posted September 3, 2012 Is BBS not an App?? Yarp it sure is but its usage would be in a diagnostic/information gathering capacity rather than something running 100% of the time , though your point is not lost on me :) As an unrelated sidenote are you the same Irishpancake mentioned in a certain battlefield 3 youtube video? Just curious.
Guest Tootiredparent Posted September 3, 2012 Report Posted September 3, 2012 Further update battery life still being eaten up too quickly have done factory reset. Hope this sorts it as don't know if phone can be returned when rooted and unlocked
Guest Tootiredparent Posted September 4, 2012 Report Posted September 4, 2012 Battery has lasted whole day so must have been a rogue app , gradually reinstalling apps. Just need the courage To go for a rom now
