Guest Ishra Posted April 8, 2003 Report Posted April 8, 2003 Hi, How long should the battery last. I find that it goes down by about 50% over the course of half a day (without calls). So basically I have to recharge every night. Should it really goint down this fast. I have done the tweaks with the homescreen etc. and the update. I've only had the thing for 2 weeks. Should I just orange care and get another battery?
Guest Carnivor Posted April 8, 2003 Report Posted April 8, 2003 Does it have the current update on it? have you applied it? mine was like that b4 i done the update, now its about 2.5 - 3 days including calls and using it for wma's
Guest James Posted April 8, 2003 Report Posted April 8, 2003 50% in half a day does not sound right! check the firmware version
Guest Chic0 Posted April 8, 2003 Report Posted April 8, 2003 As Carnivor says, I reckon you should install the update if you've not already done so.
Guest Ishra Posted April 8, 2003 Report Posted April 8, 2003 I have applied the update from the orange website. i think i need to get a new battery. it is not acceptable at the moment. i have made no calls today and charged last night, and am running out of juice now.
Guest Carnivor Posted April 8, 2003 Report Posted April 8, 2003 That does sound like a duff battery to me, soz mate, i would complain
Guest Lojt Posted April 8, 2003 Report Posted April 8, 2003 Mine is at about 60-70% after a day... and thats usually with a few phone calls and sms's.
Guest xanadu Posted April 8, 2003 Report Posted April 8, 2003 Mine is at about 60-70% after a day... and thats usually with a few phone calls and sms's. Mine is also about 60-70% after a day. But strangely the battery life only improved after the phone crashed many times about 2 weeks ago. Previously I only had about 20% battery left after a days use...very odd. Also phone hasn't crashed since the battery life improved
Guest amo Posted April 8, 2003 Report Posted April 8, 2003 no joke, mine used to last a max of 35 minutes. 40 on a good day! so 3 fonecalls to orange later and theyre trying to tell me its the charger thats the problem! anyway, i spoke to a supervisor and they sent me a new battery, problem solved.
Guest Ishra Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 "But strangely the battery life only improved after the phone crashed many times about 2 weeks ago. Previously I only had about 20% battery left after a days use...very odd. Also phone hasn't crashed since the battery life improved " This is very interesting. I wonder what could have changed. Perhaps certain software that moniters the battery can interfere with the charging process... Very strange. When I return from Poland I will contact orange and get them to send me a new battery.
Guest yatpeak Posted April 12, 2003 Report Posted April 12, 2003 If you find that your original battery starts working, it's always good to have a spare  . Wyatt
Guest iliketoparty Posted April 12, 2003 Report Posted April 12, 2003 Mine isn't too bad now as I've ran the update too...just remember to go into Settings > More... > Power Management and select a low backlight timeout and a screen saver Mode to turn off. Also put keylock on always so it can't come on when in your pocket. Prob know this already!!! :!: Party
Guest rocknsock2k Posted April 14, 2003 Report Posted April 14, 2003 mine has to be charged every night but its not a prob i do that with all my mobs : 8310 gets charged all night long whether it has 4 bars or 1
Guest Ishra Posted April 14, 2003 Report Posted April 14, 2003 But the point is that you should not have to charge it...
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted April 14, 2003 Report Posted April 14, 2003 Like said in the replies check you have the latest update version which you should have, otherwise give Orange the problem as it could be a duff battery.
