Guest nissan3 Posted September 3, 2012 Report Posted September 3, 2012 Hi i recently posted that my orange san francisco kept on rebooting into android system recovery so what i did was to try this Method 3: TPT TPT is a way of flashing part of the low-level firmware on your phone. After successfully flashing the files below you will regain access to clockworkmod. You need a different type of TPT depending on what variant of the Blade you have. If you have a China Unicom v880 or any other Chinese variant then you must not flash a TPT designed for European Blades, and vice versa. Be aware that flashing a modified or corrupt TPT can permanently brick your phone. Choose the appropriate file below. European Gen1 TPT Use this if your phone is a European GSM variant and if it is Gen1 or has been upgraded to Gen2 via TPT. This will flash stock Gen1 firmware. Flashing a TPTDownload the applicable TPT file from above.Unzip and put the “image” folder onto the root directory of your SD card.Disconnect and reconnect your SD card and check the integrity of the TPT files. There is a file called "image.hash" in the image folder which contains all the files' md5 hashes in plain text. Make sure that the md5 of all the files match, or you may brick your phone.Turn on your phone with the SD card inserted and with menu and volume up held. The screen will either stay black or show green text (if you see the green android immediately then it didn't work), and will restart into clockworkmod when done. Wait at least 5 minutes for it to restart if you don’t see anything. When it is finished (even if it didn't work), then remove the image directory from the SD card to prevent accidental flashing later on. followed instructions and got me back into clockworkmod and everytime i reboot phone it always ends up in clockwork mod please help.
Guest hydo1 Posted September 3, 2012 Report Posted September 3, 2012 The tpt only flashes cwm recovery and sets the partition sizes it does not flash a from (bit of a lie, some do but they are huge files there is one for cm 7 I think) . In order to make the phone boot you need to flash a rom like CM7 or Swedish Spring (or in fact any rom on these forums. You can do this by downloading one from these forums, copying it to your SD card and then installing it through recovery.
Guest nissan3 Posted September 3, 2012 Report Posted September 3, 2012 sorry a bit confused where to go on page please could you supply me with a link on which one i have to download please.
Guest hydo1 Posted September 4, 2012 Report Posted September 4, 2012 (edited) I will but first I need to know what rom you plan on flashing because different roms require different TPT's. Edited September 4, 2012 by hydo1
Guest nissan3 Posted September 4, 2012 Report Posted September 4, 2012 name='hydo1' timestamp='1346748455' post='2016220'] I will but first I need to know what rom you plan on flashing because different roms require different TPT's. Thanks for replying downloaded this European Gen1 TPT because phone was only rebooting into android system recovery but now since downloading European Gen1 TPT it reboots into clockworkmod so not sure what i need to do next. please help.
Guest hydo1 Posted September 4, 2012 Report Posted September 4, 2012 (edited) Seen as your phone is now GEN1 you need to download a good GEN1 ROM (I would recommend swedish spring (or the Orange Stock) as it supports GEN1 and GEN2 devices). You will then get a .zip file, copy this to your phone's SD Card using a card reader.Put this SD back in your phone and then boot into ClockworkmodNavigate using the volume keys select install .zip from sd cardnavigate to where you saved the romSelect the rom using the home keynavigate to yesthe rom will then start installingPress the back key a couple of timesselect reboot phoneLeave the phone to boot, all should work for you. Edit: If you want to use Cyanogenmod or most other ROM's you will need to use a GEN1 to GEN2 TPT. All common TPT's can be found at http://amphoras.co.uk/downloads/blade-tpts they all install in the same way as you have quoted in your OP. Edited September 4, 2012 by hydo1
Guest nissan3 Posted September 4, 2012 Report Posted September 4, 2012 Sorry if this is a stupid question but why can you not put the .zip file straight onto the phone instead of the card reader.
Guest hydo1 Posted September 4, 2012 Report Posted September 4, 2012 (edited) Sorry if this is a stupid question but why can you not put the .zip file straight onto the phone instead of the card reader. Not a stupid question at all :) you can't boot into android so you have to do it in a different way which is not very self obvious: If I'm perfectly honest it is because I was a being a little lazy and didn't mention that there is a way to mount the sd card through recovery (Mounts and Storage, Mount USB Storage - you will then be able to plug your phone into your PC and copy the .zip to it in the same way as you would normally. Pressing the back button on the phone will unmount the SD Card from your PC you can then flash the ROM in the way I said in the post above ). Edited September 4, 2012 by hydo1
Guest nissan3 Posted September 4, 2012 Report Posted September 4, 2012 Thanks a lot for your help could you pass me the links for the downloads please let you know how i get on.
Guest hydo1 Posted September 5, 2012 Report Posted September 5, 2012 I can't really give you links because I don't know what from you want. Have a look on the Blade Android Development forum and see what takes your fancy. CM7 is a good starting point. Just make sure that you read the installation instructions. CM7 requires that you convert you phone to GEN1. Konstakang requrires you to use a custom tpt. You will be able to find all of these rooms by searching google or these forums.
