Vodafone/Huawei being pricks

I sent my phone back and they said it would be covered under warranty. Now they're saying it isn't, and there's evidence of physical damage. However the problem is the screen and there's no evidence of damage to it at all. There are scratches on the side from being in my pocket(the coating is very flimsy) I've also seen pictures/videos of the same fault.

They want to charge me €90 for the phone, when the phone cost €130. Moreover, I got €20 credit with that, so I'm only saving €20 by getting it repaired.

This is a disgrace.

I'm thinking of bringing it to a local shop instead but I'm not sure they can fix it.

Either way I will be without my phone for even longer and it's a huge issue. I am autistic and it helps a lot with my panic disorder as it's much harder to get lost with one. Either way I'm going to be without one even longer and I'm not pleased with this service at all.

i just posted today that they phoned me to say there was liquid damage to my phone when there obviously wasn't, i only sent it back to get the mic problem sorted, and they also wanted to charge me to get it fixed, there sending it back to vodafone as i'm not paying them. Don't really know what my next step is but will see what vodafone say when it comes back, and then probs have to contact trading standards if all else fails to see if i have any rights, never had to complain about something i bought before so all new to me :(

Let me know what you do, seeing as I'm in the same boat.

Is it possible they have chosen to use this line to get out of fixing them due to so many problems. Does the phone get returned to Huawei, I thought it was not and was sent to an agreed service centre.

This why I always buy my phones from Asda\Tesco ect

Anything goes wrong you just take it back and get a new one or your money back.

I think that applies to the UK. Equivalent course of action in Ireland?

Got my phone back today, Vodafone were no help to me, they said due to the liquid damage mentioned by the people trying to fix it, that there was nothing they would do to replace it, but said if i took it to "phone medic" (a shop near me) and they opened it and said there was no damage, then they would send it back to the company again, i told them it always had a case on it, and also that there was no way it could have got liquid damage, but when i took it to the phone medic shop they opened it and said it had the slightest bit of moisture damage on the board but nothing that would cause the fault with the mic, so went back to Vodafone and they said in not so many words that i have no leg to stand on, then the cheeky f**kers tried to sell me a contract phone after telling me there was nothing they would do to help. I'll never shop with them again, think i'll do what deuse said a few posts up that it will be better going to Asda or Tesco, at least i can get it replaced if anything goes wrong.
