Guest dodgybob Posted April 8, 2003 Report Posted April 8, 2003 Whats this G Pod game like... any one played it yet? Found it on Handango... did a search and didn't find many useful references to it... Handango has a trial ver of it... G-Pod Handango Or am I too late? Sorry if this is a dumb repost... but I did do a few searches!!
Guest kevlar Posted April 8, 2003 Report Posted April 8, 2003 I have Gpod, in my opinion the best game for spv atm. Very playable. There is a demo available if you are unsure wether to buy or not. Kevlar
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted April 8, 2003 Report Posted April 8, 2003 I find the controls a bit too difficult? P
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted April 8, 2003 Report Posted April 8, 2003 Same here I could not get used to it all, just kept spinning everywhere, that was on my old phone though :?
Guest kevlar Posted April 8, 2003 Report Posted April 8, 2003 Eh? I have the dexterity of a 95 year old, and I can control it no problem  . I think the secret here is to manually asign the thrust action to another key, not leave it on the pad. If I can play this, anybody can, believe me! Kevlar
Guest midnight Posted April 8, 2003 Report Posted April 8, 2003 i think the controls are great  in fact, most playable game i've seen on the spv oh yeh, i have the back button as thrust, completed all 3 levels without losing a single life
Guest kevlar Posted April 8, 2003 Report Posted April 8, 2003 You should get the full game midnight, it gets a lot harder. I'm on level 17. Kevlar
Guest midnight Posted April 8, 2003 Report Posted April 8, 2003 hehe, i was an expert at thrust
Guest midnight Posted April 8, 2003 Report Posted April 8, 2003 err the game that is, not some sexual inuendo thing
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted April 8, 2003 Report Posted April 8, 2003 Ah yes, re-assigning thrust would definitely be worth trying! Done in 50 seconds is still my fave tho  P
Guest davidhorn Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 I wrote a preview of G-Pod a while ago. It was of the beta version so a few things have changed, but the game itself is still the same. http://www.smartgamer.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=68 I haven't tried Done in 60 seconds yet, looks good. I'm waiting for my goodie bag to arrive from Mobius. At last I'll have a memory card bigger than 8MB. (You're looking at the biggest cheapskate in the world here.)
Guest Raify Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 I've tried it and can't see what the hell you're supposed to do! Am i being dumb? Don't answer that, seriously, what's the object of the game?
Guest kevlar Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 Object? collect the pod, usually hidden deep in the cave system, and get it back out, just fly up into space with it in the end. Kevlar
Guest Gorskar Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 Only the 8Mb card David? How are you supposed to fit all the games you look at on that? I have a 128Mb card, and am now starting to wish I had paid a bit more and gotten a bigger one. Its got almost 20 games, a shedload of music and other various bits and bobs. I havn't really got the space to start converting DVDs to divx, so If anyones got a 256Mb or larger card going cheap then please give me a PM!
Guest lyon888 Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003  Check this page for all the info and objectifs of the game: G-Pod Instructions
Guest davidhorn Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 I normally have only two or three games on at once. If I need to install more, I use my 256mb card from my camera, but the camera insists on formatting it if any other data is on it, so I can't really switch between
