Used to have HTC Desire on ICS - but it wouldn't sync with Hotmail email, calander & contacts properly using Exchange - e.g. only sync emails about once per hour, couldn't delete anything with the mobile (it would reappear on refresh) - documented issue on Microsoft Website

Changed to G300 on gingerbread and everything works peachy - instant sync, can delete/edit events no problem

Thinking about upgrading to ICS - wondering if anyone has upgraded to ICS and uses Hotmail/live.co.uk sync and does it work?

Also wondering - is it just a one-size-fits-all ICS version (unless i wait for official vodafone which could be a while coming)

Hi JethroUK.

I'm on ICS B934 and in the mean time I've moved to Outlook.com .- the new service that is taking over Hotmail. I had a bit of difficulty setting things up (server, etc) but now it works absolutely spotless - Syncing e-mail, address books, and calendar.!

Hope these lines help and encourage you.

Cheers!

I've noticed the Hotmail integration isn't as good as it was in gingerbread. is there a new Outlook app?

From what I've read hotmail works via the stock email on this ROM (B940) - http://www.modaco.co...om/page__st__40 (see Mack's post, page 3)

I haven't tested it myself though

Yep normally on ics b936 and below i was unable to sign in to Hotmail using the stock email app,but i tried it on B940 and its working...dont know how/why but it does.

Oh interesting, yeah I never had much luck without the hotmail app on gingerbread, but contacts and calendar synching seemed ok once app installed. I'm finding the contacts and calendar are a little bit off. For example some birthdays show up a day early in the android calendar. Maybe microsoft will roll out some outlook upgrade.
