Guest Riddlemc Posted September 11, 2012 Report Posted September 11, 2012 Hi guys, I'm trying to root my phone using this guide (http://huaweig300.com/huawei-g300-install-a-custom-jelly-bean-ics-rom-from-scratch/root/). I am following the windows instructions, the problem is when I click on "root-g300" the black box appears then disappears as it should but the Superuser icon isn't on my phone meaning it isn't rooted. I have usb debugging connected and disabled fast boot but still nothing. Any help?
Guest nsmacd1 Posted September 11, 2012 Report Posted September 11, 2012 (edited) What are you running - GB or ICS? GB Instructions/help here - http://www.modaco.co...-mac-and-linux/ ICS Instructions/help here - http://www.modaco.co...03-on-the-g300/ (using the Bootloader app linked to in the first post) Edited September 11, 2012 by nsmacd1

Guest nsmacd1 Posted September 11, 2012 Report Posted September 11, 2012 Have a look at his thread - http://www.modaco.com/topic/353386-how-to-root-your-huawei-ascend-g300-for-windows-mac-and-linux/ as it has full instructions and links to the downloads you need. Also, there are 12 pages of posts from people who have done this/had problems and may be able to offer a solution if the next attempt doesn't work.

I have been trying that but it seems like the bootloader mode isn't working for me.
Guest PandaThing Posted September 11, 2012 Report Posted September 11, 2012 If your trying to root from windows xp, you'll need the windows xp driver, which is here. i found this one troublesome even after i got the drivers, so i used Paul's tutorial and started from step 4.

I'm using Windows 7, but I just want to know how you got bootloader to work for you. I have been holding the volume down with the power on button numerous times but nothing. What screen should I expect to see?
Guest PandaThing Posted September 11, 2012 Report Posted September 11, 2012 just hold volume down and power for about 15 secs to be on the safe side. You should get either the huawei or huawei ascend logo and nothing else. Then your good to connect to your pc and continue.
