Google Contacts Won't Sync After Installing Go Contacts EX

Hi all, as the title says, I installed 'Go Contacts EX' as a dialer/contacts replacement but I get a sync error whenever I try to sync my contacts. Gmail and calendar etc sync fine.

It appears after doing some searching that others are having the same issue. Even after uninstalling 'Go Contacts EX' I still get a sync error. I did find a thread on the XDA forums about this and it said that to fix it you need to:

so it's neccessary to delete contact-storage data and google account manager to fix this problem

...the trouble is I don't know how to do this. Could someone point me in the right direction please.
