Guest bizzlebest Posted September 13, 2012 Report Posted September 13, 2012 Hey all, Have been sat here twiddling thumbs waiting for Voda to email me my NUC code for almost 2 weeks now. I have called them only 5 times and have been assured 3 times that someone will call me back with some answers. I am yet to get an explanation. They state it takes 72 hours, so I allowed 5 working days because of backlog etc.. but this is a serious pisstake! So this is just a warning to those wishing to get theres unlocked from Vodafone - IF YOU CANT GET THE CODE IMMEDIATELY (some IMEI's are catalogued their end and they have the NUC's ready to go - if you bought the handset from their store or website) THEN DON'T BOTHER! If they feed you some waffle about it only taking 72 hours...... then they are having you on. If anyone has any ideas then please help a brotha out. Hopefully this will save some people time/effort/money/dayswithoutaphone
Guest Frostshocker Posted September 13, 2012 Report Posted September 13, 2012 Last time i checked the backlog at huawei and voda was around 4weeks(stated by a CS after about 20 calls), you are better off just getting your money back and using an ebay unlocker.
Guest BillBong Posted September 13, 2012 Report Posted September 13, 2012 Can't agree with you. I got my handset from Tesco last Thursday. Unboxed it on Saturday. Called up Vodafone (as a contract customer on another sim) and asked for the NUC code. The lady took my IMEI number and texted me the code during the phone call so I was running my T-Mobile sim in it 5 minutes later - if you ask nicely, and you're respectful to them, it seems to work?
Guest ETDJ Posted September 13, 2012 Report Posted September 13, 2012 eBay unlock from Korter_GSM ... £5, 24 hours Happy days.
Guest Davidoff59 Posted September 13, 2012 Report Posted September 13, 2012 Got mine done in the store for free the day I got mine.
Guest PandaThing Posted September 13, 2012 Report Posted September 13, 2012 Mine took over three weeks, and i eventually got my £20 back, because the fools never actually deducted it from my credit balance.
Guest Al_1604 Posted September 13, 2012 Report Posted September 13, 2012 I think the point of the OP is that if it's on the Vodaphone database then all is fine but if it isn't then just walk away and go to ebay.
Guest Russ_uk Posted September 14, 2012 Report Posted September 14, 2012 (edited) eBay unlock from Korter_GSM ... £5, 24 hours Is the correct answer :) Edited September 14, 2012 by Russ_uk
Guest Aurimas L. Posted September 14, 2012 Report Posted September 14, 2012 I used this one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UNLOCK-CODE-Huawei-Titan-U8800-Ascend-G300-U8815-Vodafone-Ideos-X5-Phone-/190676073415?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2c652dfbc7 . Took 12h to get the unlock code. ;-)
Guest John Young Photos Posted September 14, 2012 Report Posted September 14, 2012 (edited) Try the chat option on the Vodafone webiste. I used it a couple of times and it worked but it depends on who you talk to I talked to one lady and she said I would have to pay £20 I then talked to someone else 10min later and they give to me straight away and that was for my Huawei G300 I used it on an older vodafone phone and they give it then straight away to (that phone was branded Vodafone but made by Huawei) I don't have a contract on PAYG Edited September 14, 2012 by John Young Photos
