Once you're on ics you can change via cwm. Or, if you're on stock, via dload.
Guest b4da55 Posted September 16, 2012 Report Posted September 16, 2012 tried dload and they always fail and cwm is still just giving me wifi error. unless anyone has used cwm yo flash b940 without any issues surroundind wifi and they were on b926
Guest jsevi83 Posted September 16, 2012 Report Posted September 16, 2012 I only used middle package to update from GB to ICS b926. After that I flashed Infusion via CWM, and yesterday I flashed b940 via CWM also. All is working perfect, including wifi. I did a full wipe and formated system before the update.
Guest b4da55 Posted September 16, 2012 Report Posted September 16, 2012 ok thanks will keep trying and let you know

Guest Davidoff59 Posted September 16, 2012 Report Posted September 16, 2012 same idea, update does the same thing changing boot loader etc. If you read the messages about the update failing, it has OEM sbl version fail. I think that stands for OEM Standard boot loader or similar. It makes sense that it won't flash. Example. Uk release B885. We find an Asian leak called B892. The Uk then releases B895. The update script won't be looking for B895 as it wasn't a uk release or its not on the list as it was a leak so was never meant to be on phones in the wild. As the bootloader is part of the firmware, it only gets reflashed during an UPDATA update. The UPDATA file contains a list, in which every bootloader version that can be upgraded is noticed. If the bootloader version matches one of the list, the update will be installed, and it will overwrite your bootloader. Thus the version of your bootloader gets changed. If you now want to install another (older) update, it does the whole procedure again. But what happens if the update you're trying to install is older than the installed update? Well, the list of upgradeable bootloader versions can't contain the new newer bootloader versions that's installed on your device, as this version did not exist when the older update was released! So what will happen? The bootloader version won't match and the update will fail with "OEM_SBL_VERSION_UNMATCHED" (in the update log file in the /dload folder).
Guest jsevi83 Posted September 16, 2012 Report Posted September 16, 2012 Glad to hear, those were the instructions I read on the Infusion thread. I guess sometimes it works to update without a full wipe, but if you want to be sure that there will be no issues it's better to do a full wipe.
