Guest Garyj881 Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 (edited) I rooted my G300 and as per THIS thread but had a small problem. I tried a different pc and now it works. My probelm- I am quite new to this only having my G300 for less than a week, so still trying to understand things. My phone at the moment is working fine, however I can't use my sd with the phone, so apps2sd doesn't move files to it and I'm running out of space,. I formatted and created a partition using CWM which worked but I still can't utilise my SD card. With this I aim to flash the software back on to see if it fixes the error but I can't remember the one i Downloaded. I am pretty sure it was the B936 stock rom and the guide asked for me to put the dload on the root of the drive. All went well but I can't find the thread anymore. So, advice is needed. If I can't fix my sd issue I plant to re-install the same software. Please. please help, I am out of my depth with knowledge for this and would like a working phone that tworks with my SD card :) Thanks Edit; just tried to re-mount my sd card and the phone is saying it's damaged :/ I will order a new one then update this thread Edited September 18, 2012 by Garyj881
Guest emyjojo Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 You can find all the official and unofficial roms for the g300 by following this link: http://www.modaco.com/topic/357362-list-of-official-and-unofficial-roms, the B936 is there aswell. Hope this will help you. Good luck.
Guest Garyj881 Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 (edited) Thanks. Edited September 18, 2012 by Garyj881
Guest Garyj881 Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 (edited) OK, formatted the sd and seemas to be ok. To install the B936, I extaract the rar file, copy both the dload file and the origianl unextracted file to my sd and run the update from the phone? Edited September 18, 2012 by Garyj881
Guest emyjojo Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 You'll only need the dload folder on your SDcard. No need to copy the original unextracted file.
Guest Garyj881 Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 (edited) OK, thanks again :) I have the rom on and working BUT still have the issue with mym memory card. First thing I did was download Apps2sd to see if I could move apps to sd and I get the following error.- The device does not have a real primary excternal storage, or the primary storage is emulated. Moving apps to sd function may not be supported by this device. Second apps 2 sd says - Not supported on your device. Help :D Edited September 18, 2012 by Garyj881
Guest MickJack Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 I may be totaly wrong but in settings/storage there is the option to use SD card or internal, I am on Infusion 04, cannot remember if this option was there before but my apps/music/video/doc's have always been on my SD card so have had no need of apps2sd type apps. Perhaps you need a different format for your card, from your first post you seem to be saying your SD card is not seen or working with the phone, did you use the phone to format it? - I am a noob myself and think you need better advice, hope this is helpful.
Guest Garyj881 Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 Thanks Mick, I understand what you're saying. I did format with my phone through CWM and it seems to be functioning properly, I just can't transfer apps to sd like I did on my Desire. I'm sure someone will explain what the issue is, just a waiting game :)
Guest MickJack Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 Gary, my lad has a Desire, yet to look at rooting/app transfer, but is looking, as above I directed everything to SD card from either Settings/storage or using something like Rom Toolbox, someone who knows will be along, this is a lively forum.
Guest Garyj881 Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 (edited) Well on this phone I can direct everything to SD intead of the phone but some apps need to be on the phone itself to function properly that's why I like apps2sd. Edited September 18, 2012 by Garyj881
Guest Garyj881 Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 (edited) Ok read more... According to THIS apps can't be mounted on the external sd, read for more info.
