no 3g network

ok so after finally getting my device to update to ics (B934) i am no longer getting 3g. i have tried entering vodafone apn settings manually to no avail, so im asking if anyone knows why and how i can fix it. thanks...

Also i am in Australia if that means anything

You are at least the 3rd person from Australia that has reported that 3g is broken after an upgrade. This should probably be in big bold letters somewhere until someone works out the problem and a fix.

Have a search through other posts in this section, several users have reported similar issues with 3G, all from Australia.

Don't know if there was ever a solution though.

Maybe a completely stupid suggestion, but check in the settings under More.. Mobile Networks that Use only 2G networks isn't checked. It was on one time I flashed, but never has been any other time. ALso go into the network operators ad make sure you're conencted to vodafone 3g not anything else - mine lists 2g and 3g in the operators.

i tried to connect to vodafone 3g operator but it doesnt let me comes up with "unable to connect at this time, please try again later"

edit: also in notification bar "No Service Slelected Network (vodafone AU 3g) unavailable"

Don’t know if this will help in your case but follow my post about using 4636 to force the phone to use 3G (WCDMA) only, post #6.

This was a solution to stop the G300 from dropping to 2G but if you use it to force the phone to use 3G and it does not work, you have a big problem with the phone for which I haven’t a clue how to fix.

well i tried it but it didnt help. i at least get 2g so i can still make/recieve calls and sms so my phone is still usable to a degree. 3g would be nice but i will have to wait and see if someone works out a fix so us aussies can get 3g after installing custom roms

Might be worth a try flashing the Vodafone New Zealand B936. Flash the full update not the CWM repack. That way you will get the 2030 radio image intended for NZ - might be more Australia aware.

This is a standard update.app that will take your device from any state to stock B936. This will lock your bootloader (which can of course be unlocked again), install the 2030 baseband and the B936 ROM.

I've tried this with no luck. I had to zero my imei, go back to gingerbread and then update using the Vodafone New Zealand B936.

I'm also from Australia using TPG which uses the Optus network.

Works fine in forced 2g.
